Lando hung up his phone and set it down on the desk. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees as he put his head in his hands. He rubbed his face before brushing them through his hair. Why did they have to fight? Why did they have to do that? Well, it was Lando’s fault for starting it, but he apologized and all that stuff, then it got turned on Lando, and he nearly told her to leave, and he didn’t want to say that because it would hurt him a ton, and he would have to go out into the night and look for her. It was horrible… bad enough that Landon was almost in tears –which was something he never did – and was really speaking it out, like he had never spoke before. He never talked like that, going that deep into his emotions, that wasn’t the Landon anyone knew. He leaned back into his hair, huffing and sighing as he looked up into the ceiling. He hated fighting with her; he hated fighting himself, and everything else. Realizing what he had done with his hand, he winced a bit. Oh yeah, he forgot that he had punched the wall… sort of and had probably crushed his hand. His eyes wandered over to the wall, noticing there were semi cracks, but not a full hole in the way. That was some punch he did, and he was sure as hell proud of it. Now, he would have to figure out how to fix it before Bailey saw it, but he didn’t care about that anymore, nor did he want to think about it at this minute. Landon’s eyes went towards his hand, knowing it was throbbing and hurt, but he couldn’t tell the difference between broken bones or a fractured wrist or anything like that, he left all that knowledge to Shayne to figure out, he could tell it was swollen, and that was about it. Once again, Landon huffed, figuring out what to do at this point, seeing as though he had to do things so that the house was at least ready enough for her to come over and just be with him. He specifically told her he wanted to hang out with her, and only her tonight and that no one wasn’t going to take that away. No one will ever change that.
Getting up from the chair, Landon had put his hand up to his chest, and just making the gesture look like he already had a sling on or something. He rather not use his hand and wait until she got here to check it out. He walked into the kitchen, going to the cupboard and pulling out the tequila with his one hand. He kept them on the counter as he went around and just cleaned up some things. He had the house to himself… and the dog was here as well, so he really wasn’t alone. Landon had grown accustomed to the dog, named Gizmo due to Bailey’s love for the name. Sure enough, Landon liked the dog; it was weird for him to even admit that. He hated dogs, no one knew why, but he just never enjoyed them. But, he had looked around because of his sister begging, and well, he gave in and bought her one. It was a cute little dog, looked like a fuzz ball, yet more normal and curly a bit. Landon went into the living room, cleaning some of the toys the dog had brought out, still using one hand. He was going to regret punching that wall, but you know what, Landon didn’t care. He looked down at his attire, just sweatpants and socks. He was home alone, so there was no purpose putting on a shirt. So, he just went walking around shirtless and handless. He managed to sit himself down and just sit there. He didn’t know when she would get here or what time she was coming and anything else, all he knew was that she was coming and that was it. He wasn’t going to hurt her or anything, because he wasn’t like that, and he wasn’t going to yell or anything, because that made him even more like a monster than what that phone call was like. He regretted it and he wanted to take everything back, but hey, no one can take back the past. With his good hand, he ran a hand through his hair again, this time rubbing the back of his neck too. There was powerful words exchanged between them and he both knew that they regretted it. It was going to be weird seeing her, but Landon was a forgiving person, so it was going to be good in the end.
There were some lights that pulled into his drive way. He was really hoping she didn’t drive, but she did. He sighed softly, getting up from the couch and heading over to the door. He was managing to do well with only one hand. That was an accomplishment to him. Landon went walking again and stopped at the door. He hesitated a bit, but opened it and leaned against the door frame. The wind from the cold air came and hit his chest. He shivered a bit, but he didn’t care. The cold never bothered him really. He watched her as she sat there for a minute or two, he wasn’t going to be impatient, and he was going to let her take her time if anything. He noticed her finally getting out of the car and heading towards the door. He sighed softly, but it was a content sigh. He noticed –as she got closer – that her eyes were red and her cheeks were a light color. But she looked calm, but he knew it was killing her inside… everything is. He looked down at her –slightly because he was tall – and stayed silent. He walked down a step and eventually brought her into a hug. One of his infamous Landon hugs. He rested his chin on her head, and it was a bit awkward because of him being shirtless and all, but he didn’t care at this point about it. My lovely Shayne… Everything will be alright, okay? Lando isn’t going anywhere nor are you.
[/b] Landon said softly. He lifted his hand, looking at it and closed his eyes. She will look at his hand later, for now, she needed to know that it was going to be okay and he was sorry along with knowing that he wasn’t going to go anywhere. tagged: Shayne status: finished words: 1105 notes: awwws, I love me some Lando/Shay[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

She had not wanted Landon to find out about all of this mess with her and Jem. All she had wanted was to be alone and figure out everything that was going on in her head. Shayne was hardly the person that just dealt with these kinds of things, normally she was all down for confrontation, but after the wedding she just did not want to. She had been avoiding everything, and that was not a part of her personality. She just could not bring herself to believe that he could possibly be cheating on her, but in the same token she had no desire to confront him about it. So Shayne had hid something from her very best friend, hell she was hiding it from her best friends period. Vidette knew nothing about her suspicion of Jem, but why would she tell the girl? It was someone that looked identical to her, and that was a scary thought in itself. But not telling Landon had been like stabbing a knife in her heart and twisting it. It hurt her more than he could have imagined whenever he called and started to yell at her. It had caused her to cry, which ironically had ceased until that call. She had stopped crying whenever she picked herself up off the bathroom floor earlier in the day. She had spent the entire previous night laying on her bathroom floor bawling her eyes out. It had been who she had become, someone that hid from everything. She couldn’t even tell Landon what was bothering her and that was what upset her the most. He was her person, the one she went to about anything and he always knew how to make her better. Fighting with him though took all of her energy and she was just emotionally drained.
The funny thing was that through that conversation she had managed to break through big tough Landon. She had him opening up more than she could have imagine, that they had both almost been in tears. She was terrified of being replaced in everyone’s life at this point, she felt like everyone was phasing the brunette out. She almost felt like it would have been better for her to go home for a little bit. To leave everything behind and just move on with her life away from all of the dramatics that had cam along. She had been through so much over the past year, and no one except Landon and Vidette really knew the extent of it all. Shayne had to put those thoughts from her mind as she pulled herself up off the bedroom floor and tried to find something to change into, since she had been sitting on the hardwood in her underwear and a tank top. Hardly appropriate to wear in the snow and cold, but she knew that she could not sit there with tears in her eyes for long knowing that Landon had punched a wall. The brunette had enough on her plate, but having to take Landon to the emergency room was not something that she had been planning on. However, when she found out that he had punched the wall, well she knew that it was not good. He would probably do something to make it worse before she got there. The brunette grabbed a pair of pajama pants and one of Landon’s many sweatshirts that were laying around her house and started towards the door. She grabbed her keys and headed towards the door.
Driving down the road it was just enough to let the onslaught of emotion overwhelm her again. She was crying again while she drove, and she was over this emotional shit. Shayne needed to slap herself and pull it together because this was not her. She pulled into the driveway and turned the car off. For some reason she could not get herself to exit the car. There had been a lot of hurtful words exchanged between the two of them, and she knew that they would fix it. They always did, but it was still hard for her to want to get out of the car and see him. She had hurt him, he had hurt her, and she had so much going on. Her eyes were drawn to the doorway, and she had no idea why he was standing there. Shayne had a key to the house, but there he was waiting for her to get the courage to exit her little suv. She had finally calmed herself down enough to look like she wasn’t falling apart, but deep down everyone knew that Shayne was falling apart inside. Everything that was Shayne was being put to the test, because everyone that she held dear to her heart seemed to be replacing her, and now she had to compete with two new girls in town that wanted to come swooping in on her men. The only thing that the brunette could hope was that it was not the same girl. As much as the possibility of cheating was she just wanted James Hale to be happy, and if it wasn’t with her then it was going to be okay. She was just going to have to deal with it, but this girl with Landon would be trying to take her place as the third amigo. She was the girl in their triangle, and nine times out of ten no girl was good enough for her Landon.
She walked up the stairs to see Landon standing there shirtless, something that she had not noticed before. Shayne stood there for a few moments waiting to see what he was going to do. The brunette turned her eyes up to her super tall best friend and could not force the smile that she had only nights ago. When Andy was around she was able to force herself to be happy, but now she was breaking and nothing was going to fix her. Nothing could, and that was a fact of who the brunette was. She felt him take a step since somewhere along the way she had just frozen and could not lift her feet up to make the final steps to the door way. His arms were wrapped around her and then his chin was on her head. Shayne buried her head in his chest, even if he was shirtless, she still felt safe in his arms. Something that was not easily taken from her. She trusted him with her life and everything in her life, and was completely ashamed of herself for not telling him what had been going on in her life. She whispered to his questions. “If you say so Landon. I don’t want to go anywhere, but sometimes it just seems like it would be easier.” Which was far from a lie, she honestly felt that if she left for a little bit everything would get better. She had a lot to work through in her head, but she stood there freezing her ass off, and she had a hand to look at. She turned her head up slightly to look at him. “I am sure you are freezing, and I have a hand that needs attention. So we should probably go inside and let me see it to decide if we need to take you to the emergency room. I still cannot believe you punched a wall.” She shook her head gently as she pulled out from under his grip and walked into the house. /justify]

No one’s lives were perfect. He had never expected someone to have the “perfect life”. If they did, well then they must have been boring and all this other shit about that. People had problems every day, and Landon would admit that he had problems too. Shayne could say she had problems too, and she was going through the worst of it all. All the shit that was going on with her, it was taking its toll on her, and she needed to figure it out. She had her friends thankfully to help her which they are still trying to, and Landon was going to help her as best as he could enough to actually help her through all of this.. Landon had gone through it too; the best example would be his sister. Once he had gotten her to come stay with him and take care of her, he soon realized he didn’t know much about how a girl really was like and what they would want and need and their emotions. Landon was a guy, how could he have possibly known what to do? And he was getting help with it, and he still has help with it, and he was glad about it. But like stated, no one had perfect lives and they might pretend about it, but it would kill them and eventually it would burst out into the world when no one was expecting it at all. Everything was just pain and no one brought it upon themselves, sometimes they did, sometimes it was the other people, but either way, it would cause trouble and it could be painful. But it wouldn’t matter; they were going to figure things out slowly, it were what were best, to take things slowly. Landon had blinked just then.
Landon sighed softly, listening to her little comments. He knew he couldn’t fix anything, but he could fix this problem between them. They always managed doing that, and once it was done, they were good as new again. He had to think about how he would answer, because anything he could say would be wrong and once again upset her. Well, it would probably upset him too. Landon lifted his chin off of her head and looked down at her, trying to give a semi smile for her. If you went somewhere, you would be even lonelier. You got to take things easily my dear, and try not to worry about things…. And I know that me yelling wasn’t smart, but I got angry… And I’m deeply, terribly, honestly sorry for it.
[/b] Landon said softly. He noticed she was freezing, and oddly enough, he wasn’t. It was weird for him to say that though. But whatever the case may be, he was fine.. But, he was going to do what she wanted, only because he didn’t want more problems between them and he sure as hell didn’t want them to appear again. He had let go of her as she entered into the house. Landon turned himself, shutting the door behind him with his one hand and kept the other one near his chest again like earlier. He wasn’t trying to be a pansy, but god damn that hurt, but he was sure as hell proud of what he did. No one would understand why he would be happy about it, but who cared about them. If lando was happy, then he was happy, and he is happy about this. He hesitated as he walked more into the house than before and he gave a small guilty look at her. The hole is over there. It didn’t fully go through, just some cracks. Nothing I can’t fix really. It was accidental though, a reflex actually.[/b] Landon said sheepishly. He had looked at her once again, noting in his eyes that he was still sorry. The dirty blond had stretched his arm out then, letting her then go on and look at his hand. He couldn’t tell anything, he wasn’t a genius when it came to medical terminology and the means and looks of things. All he could really tell you about his hand was that it was swollen and had a color to it. What he should get was a ‘Medical Meanings and Terms for Dummies’ book. It might help him with it, considering he was a dummy on this type of thing. Maybe he should ask that for Christmas, that would be a funny thing to get, but he would probably ask only because it sounds like a cool gift… Okay, not cool, but it would probably help him with shit next time he gets in trouble with doing something that could hurt him. He stayed silent on it, watching her check out his hand. He winced a bit, but it wasn’t to where he was going to be bitching out. He would most likely bite his lip or just keep his language to himself. He took a breath in and let it come out as a sigh. You know… you can stay here for as long as you want. You won’t be a bother to us or anything… It’ll be nice to see you a bit more… please Shayne.. Landon said softly, looking at her. He knew she needed somewhere else to go, she had half of some of her things here, so she really could stay here. Wow, this was really awkward, but he couldn’t really help this. Well, he could, but he has been trying to apologize and what not. He really means it this time, and he knew a lot of things were going on, but he was putting his effort in and trying to apologize to her for the stupid remarks he had made and how he had done something he promised he would never do to her and yelled at her anyways. He sighed softly, and went on to looking down at his hand again. He didn’t know what was going on in her head and what she was going to say. Landon would probably have to tell her to put it into English so he could understand it, and if that didn’t help, then it would go into dumb words so that he actually did understand the stuff she was saying. It would be weird enough if his sister came and heard the awkwardness and wonder what the hell was going on. He didn’t know if she was even at a friend’s house or if she was home. Oh that was brilliant. Never mind, he remembered she was at a friend’s house, so he was good then. So my friend who means the world to me, what’s the verdict on my hand? Is it emergency room worthy or no? Landon asked after a minute or two of being silent. He was never this silent, but I think it was needed at this point, but hopefully she would actually open up and they could actually talk about things that have been going on and try to understand a ton more. He would have to keep telling her she isn’t going to be replaced. No one could change that. Landon had sighed, once again. tagged: Shayne status: finished words: 1200 notes: awwws, I love me some Lando/Shay[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Nobody had a perfect life, but anytime the brunette had anything good in her life it never worked out. Every single time that she had been happy thus far in her life it had been ripped from her. Jack dying had been the most awful, and then the whole Kaler incident happened. Shayne had been happy with him, at least she had tricked herself into being happy. She had no reason not to be happy with him, that was until she had spotted him behind the bar with her best friend. So not only had she been ripped from her little bubble of happiness, but her friendship with her absolute best friend in the entire world was quite possibly gone forever because of their piss poor decisions in men. Then she had found James Hale and her world seemed so much brighter. Her love life was constantly a mess, but she had Jem. Their relationship was simple and uncomplicated, and it was a wonderful change of pace. Never had she imagined that this was going to be her life. But then she found herself in a catch-22 not knowing what to do. On one hand she had the option of just letting herself implode from the information that weighed so deeply on her heart, on the other she had the option to ask Jem about the girl that obviously wanted him. Shayne was the kind of girl to confront what was going on in her life, she had never ran from anything. That is what had caused a hand to end up around her neck after she had punched and kicked Kaler Scott. She was the girl that found out, but she just could not handle the heartbreak that was sure to happen to her whenever she did confront this. Shayne was finally happy for once in her life, and she wanted to stay that way. Just once she wanted to be happy.
Fighting with Landon though, it had completely shattered her spirits. She wanted nothing more than to crawl into a ball and just hide for the rest of her life. Her best friend in the world was upset and angry with her, and she had not reason to think that he did not have a reason to. Lando should be upset that she had kept things from him, but it was not because she wanted too. Shayne needed to figure things out herself and how to deal with it. Yes other opinions were nice sometimes, which was why she had gone to Andy instead. Andy let her work things out in her head, but he was there for her to bounce the ideas off of if she needed them. Shayne Brennan was broken, so beautifully broken that no one could pick up all the pieces of her. She had let men come in and pick off pieces of who she was until she felt like a ghost, and going somewhere to start over was not such a bad idea as it danced in her head. Well, until Landon decided to pipe up and ruin that idea. Everything that he said made sense though. “You know me Landon. I always worry about something, and maybe I would be lonely. Then again, it would be like starting over. Nothing that I have not already accomplished, what with moving here with no friends four years ago.” So maybe she was being a bit of a smartass, but that was until he apologized again to her. She knew that he was sorry for yelling at her and hurting her in ways that he would never know. “I know you Landon. I’m sorry too, but it doesn’t make what we said go away. We are not good people when we fight with each other.” She looked down at her feet, knowing damn well that she was hurtful and spiteful whenever she was angry. It was one of her major flaws, and she knew that all too well.
Shayne walked into the house, making sure that she kept an eye of Landon to see if he could use his hand at all. She did however follow his gaze over to the wall that had inevitably been the one who caught Landon’s wrath. The man spoke, and all she could do was walk over to the hole, take in all the damage and listen to him as he tried to explain what was going on. It was insane for him to have hit the wall, just because they had gotten in an argument. Although, she was much happier knowing that it was the wall and not her face that had caught the anger that was coursing through his body. “I am sure it was just a reaction. You should try and control your temper you know, even if it is difficult. Remember that is what had me pinned against a wall suffocating?” Shayne knew that the only reason that she had that experience in the back of her mind was because she had set off Kaler Scott’s fiery temper. Not one of her most brilliant ideas, but it had gotten the point across that he was not going to do this to her again. Shayne was now examining his hand, taking in the way that it was swollen and how it was changing colors. She felt him wince and knew that it hurt, seeing as how he had not been using his hand obviously. The brunette was able to notice these things, seeing as how she was mainly a trauma nurse. She loved being in the emergency room, but scrubbing in was always nice too. She was a nurse that was trained to handle anything that they threw at her, and she enjoyed it. So she turned his hand making sure to feel not only his knuckles, but down to his wrist and basically his entire hand. Shayne listened as he spoke, but kept her main focus on his hand. “I know Landon, I just feel bad always coming here whenever things fall apart. Which seems to be every couple of months my life comes crashing down around me. But if you really want me here...” Her voice trailed as she noticed that something was off in his hand. A bone did not feel like it was in the right spot, but she might just be imagining it.
The brunette knew that he was trying to apologize, because he had broken one of their main promises. Landon had promised to never yell at her or hurt her. She knew that it was impossible to keep this idea in her head that it would never happen, but they had been friends for years. They had dated before that but it was never hard for them to keep their tempers in check. Shayne continued to wiggle the bones in his hand, just to make sure everything was alright when it clearly was not. Something was broken in his hand, and she did not want to have to tell him that he was probably going to end up in a cast for at least six weeks. “Well Landon, you broke your hand. You feel this?” she said as she wiggled the bone in his hand that was connected to his middle finger, “It’s not supposed to move like that. I am also fairly certain that you did something to your wrist too since it is swollen and purple. It is also a possibility that you broke some fingers since you can’t really move them.” Her dark eyes were soft, as she spoke the next bit. “We will definitely need to go to the emergency room, but if you don’t want to go right this second we can do ice and see how it helps the swelling and then we can talk. But really it is up to you, but we can’t wait all night. Maybe an hour or so before I make you go to the emergency room.” She tilted her head to the side and made her way out to the kitchen to get the ice. She knew that Landon was going to want to talk about this, because he could really care less about his hand. He had wanted her over there. “I just don’t understand why I can never be happy. My life seems to fall to pieces every couple of months, and for once I did not want to admit that it was. I wanted to forget everything that was happening to me, and just this once pretend that everything was okay. Is that so wrong?” She handed him the ice and sat down on the other side of him to snuggle up next to him. He was the only person that could hold her and just make everything go away. Landon was the only one who was always there, he never went anywhere.

At least he was happy about her accepting his apology. She knew he was wrong, and he knew he was stupid enough to do this, but he was at least fine now that she forgave him. Landon sighed softly, letting her look at his hand, how purple and swollen it was. He listened to her silent talk to him, but her attention was to his hand, which he could understand completely. It didn’t matter so much to him; he just wanted her to come over. It would be better than sitting around doing nothing, at least she could do something with Landon, and he always got her in the best of mood, though sometimes it was just for something pointless. Either way, he got her to at least relax and smile. It was true, every couple of months her life was screwed and fucked up. Landon was always there for her, and she knew that. She just hated relying on him, and he knew that. So there wasn’t any reason why not too. He was a listening type of guy though he puts on a big tough face. You have to know someone before you judge them. Shayne’s known him for a long time, and she knew who he really was. She just got something she never expected from him on the phone, him really opening up to her. He sighed softly, looking down at his hand, feeling her delicate fingers on his hand, checking it out. Obviously, by the looks on her face, he could tell there was something wrong, what it could be Landon didn’t know. But he knew by her face there was something wrong with his hand. He figured she would tell him eventually. Landon felt absolutely helpless with being able to use one hand, but whatever. What was going to be the problem though is that whatever he had did to his hand, he was going to be screwed with. Only because that hand was his writing hand.
Hey, I don’t care if you feel like you’re always depending on my house. You can stay. Like I said, it would be nice to see you more. It’s at least better than being at home alone. And you know I’m right Shay. Think it over; the door is open to you. And also because you have a key.
[/b] Landon said. He huffed a bit, feeling stupid that he broke a promise. They both did say words they did regret, and if he could, he would take them all back and wish he never said it. But he couldn’t change the past, and there would be no DeLoreon (however you spell it) like it Back to the Future to take you back into time, although that would be freaking sweet. But you know, we only can forgive and move on, knowing that you’re forgiven already. The things we said won’t be able to be taken back, but we can apologize, which we did, and forgive and move on. It’s the best thing to do and not hold a grudge my dear. Landon said with a shrug. He went on to think of different thoughts. Mostly about his hand and the pain, then there was the whole Shayne thing, then lastly, there is the whole ‘I don’t know what to do anymore’ type of thoughts. He was actually thankful Bailey wasn’t here to see this, or hear the conversation they had and even the wall. It would be best if kept secret, but knowing that she would find out somehow, Landon would have to give in and tell her anyways whether he wanted too or not. And if anything, she probably would go to Shayne if he had disagreed with her and told her a simple no. So, he was going to have to tell her if questions had come up, and he knew for a fact that there was going to be questions about Shayne not being here in a while along with some others. He listened in her, now hearing what she was saying about his hand. She touched the one part in his hand and he winced a bit. Damn that hurt. Obviously he nodded to her, trying to keep his mouth quiet. Damn. A broken middle finger, fractured wrist, and more broken fingers. They’re going to have to splint my middle finger, and cast the others or something like that. Landon said sighing. Hey, at least he knows what’s wrong with his hand now. He really didn’t care much about how the pain was; at least he knew what the hell was going on and what was going to happen. Lucky him going to the hospital. Besides, he would be the one walking out in a cast, and have it written all over in a matter of a few days… Landon grunted then, shaking his head. I’m not goin to any hospital just yet. Ice it first, then we can see… alright? She must’ve read him like a book, because soon after he said that, she went off to get him ice. Landon sighed, heading over to the couch then, and sitting down near the edge, so that his wrist can be on the arm of the couch. He got himself comfortable before having the ice go on his hand. He could hear the ice try and bags and anything else that made a noise. An ice bag was going to kill him; he hated ice on his body anywhere. He could stand the cold, but the whole ice cold thing got to him. He really didn’t care much for his hand, but he knew he would have to go sooner or later to the hospital to get his hand wrapped up in a cast and live for many weeks with it on. He watched as she came into the living room then, putting the ice on his hand and now he sounded like a pansy. Holy shit! It’s fucking cold! He said whining a bit. She had sat down next to him, curling up into him. He wrapped his good arm around her, letting herself get comfortable in his side. He sighed contently, listening to her. Honestly, he could understand her on this, well, not on a personal level, but he could understand her. Landon nodded, trying to think of what he wanted to say about it all. He was going to choose wisely. Shay, I don’t want to sound rude, but, I don’t think he was ready for the full on ‘love’ thing. I mean, I know you might be in love with him, but what if he wasn’t? You know, he might’ve said that just to make you happy.[/b] He sighed softly, thinking about how else he wanted to go on with everything. You’re an amazing girl, you know that? James probably wasn’t lucky enough to see that. I just don’t think he was ready. Maybe he wasn’t ready for accepting that you have to amazing best guy friends and a busy work schedule and not enough time for him. Landon said, looking down at her. He gave a warm smile and kissed the top of her head. Sighing slightly again, he went silent for a few. He looked over at his hand, feeling the numbness from the ice. Who knows about what all of it means, because he doesn’t even know half the shit about it. Thank god he has Shay though, who knows what the hell everything is about and knows what to do about stuff like this. If you keep pretending dear, you’re going to be in a fantasy, and you’re not going to know what reality is because you’re going to be so far gone; and there will be more problems there. You want to take in reality and face it as much as you don’t want too. He added softly. He had to tell her his opinions of it, she may not like any of them, but she had to know them. Landon looked back down at his hand now, finally giving in. I hate to admit this, but can we go get this thing wrapped? The ice is starting to make me loose feeling in my hand and fingers. And I really don’t want ice anymore. I never thought I’d be this antsy about going to the hospital.[/b] Landon said giving in. He hated giving in to things, but if he had too, then he had to. He removed the arm that was around her, lifting the ice off of his hand and getting up from his seat, going to put the ice into the kitchen sink. He, once again, realized obviously that he was still shirtless. I don’t think it would be wise to go to a hospital shirtless. So, he told her to wait right there, he had to get a shirt on, along with shoes, which he didn’t know how the hell he was going to tie them because of him being one handed. So, with that all being said, he went up the stairs and to his room, finding a shirt that would be easy to get on and honestly, probably be the only thing he would wear because he didn’t want to put more effort into putting clothes on that he would eventually have to take off to sleep. He managed to walk back down the stairs, finding his tennis shoes and sliding them one with one hand. He was good, he should go pro. Ha, funny Landon. He stood back up now, looking at her. Obviously she was going to be the one driving down there and the one driving back. And if they told him he couldn’t drive, well, he was going to do it anyways. He knew he was going to have to wrap his hand whenever he went to shower. So at least he knew some things about broken hands... barely. tagged: Shayne status: finished words: 1655 notes: flalalalalalalala i didd the challenge![/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

She never let other people in her life, and she kept to herself. I guess that is what she got for being raped and blaming it on herself. The guy had told her that she was a tease, and then from there Shayne had shut down. She kpet people out of her life and dealt with her own problems her own way. She had completely shut down and that was what caused the brunette to move to Arietta. She needed to get away from Pittsburgh, so she found herself in the small coastal town she called home. That was whenever she had stumbled upon the one person that she had learned to completely depend on. Landon Cambridge had walked into her life and taught her that you could depend on people. As much as it went against everything that she had taught herself, she knew that she could trust Landon with anything. He had been there to help her get adjusted and even helped her move into her apartment. Landon was there for her in every moment that she needed, and it was something that she took for granted sometimes. She knew that he was dependable, and sometimes she decided that things needed to be worked out in her head. That was whenever he had found her on the bathroom floor after Jack had died, but that was when he had the grace that she talked about now. Even if he had punched a wall, he still was there to help her pick up the broken pieces of her life. He always was, and she loved him more for it.
So she was obviously going to have to take care of him, because she knew that he was going to be useless with one hand. She held his hand in hers looking it over just to make sure that there was nothing that she was going to be missing because it was Landon’s hand. She did not want to assess wrong, but it was something that she could do. She was not an orthopedic, and it was hard to tell all of the damage that he could have possibly done to his hand. His voice broke her concentration as her eyes met his. “You know how to pick up all my broken pieces Landon. I know that you are doing this because of who you are, but I feel bad. I just wanted, for once, everything to work out. Just this one time, and I know it is better than staying home moping. I know that, but I don’t know what to do.” She tried to smile at him, because she knew that the only place she belonged at the moment was there with him. He knew how to console her and pick up her broken pieces, and he was the only one that knew that side of her. Yes Andy was always there to help her work through things, but it was Landon that had pieced her back together when there had been no one else. He knew her deep dark secrets, and he knew the things that really bothered her. Shayne and Landon had promised long ago not to yell at each other and not to hurt each other. She was sorry for the hurtful words that she had spoken, but sometimes she had a temper. It often got her into trouble and caused her to overreact. “You know I forgive you. I know you didn’t meant half of what you said, and neither did I. We can’t take it back, but I want to forget it happened. I need my Lando now more than ever, okay?” Her brown eyes looked up at him and it was obvious that tears could shed at any moment. She was an emotional mess, even if it was not just the fight with Landon that was causing it. It was everything in her life coming down on her at once. It always seemed to go that way.
Shayne tried to tell Landon what all he had done to his hand, at least that she could tell, in the simplest terms that she could. There was still a lot of things that could be wrong that she would not be able to tell without an x-ray, but she knew Landon a little too well sometimes. The brunette knew that he would put up a fight about going to the hospital, so she just started to get the ice. “They will probably just put you in a cast to cover everything. I am not really sure, I’m not an orthopedic nurse or doctor. And this is only what I can tell without having an x-ray.” and that was when she had reappeared with his ice. She also knew how much of a baby he could be about ice. Which actually tugged a smile to her lips. She waited until he was perfectly comfortable before she set the ice bag on his hand. It was the reaction that she had expected even though she had wrapped the bag in a towel and did her best to keep the cold off of him as much as possible. “You know what, you are a big old baby. I thought you were supposed to be the strong one?” She laughed a little before she settled in beside him. He wrapped her up with his good arm, and she just wanted all the pain to disappear from her. So once let everything that was good in her life happen, but no...it was never going to happen. And that was whenever he started to speak, and she lifted her head in complete awe. She could not believe what she was hearing come from his mouth. “Landon Alexander Cambridge! How can you say that to me? Why do you always choose to see that side of people? No, I know he was in love with me too, and I told him not to say anything. I specifically told him that he didn’t need to say anything, but that I had too.” She was so upset, hurt, and just plain angry that she was in tears again. How could her best friend sit there and try and make this okay? How could he say that he didn’t love her and that the only reason that he said it was to make her happy. “He knew all about my busy schedule, because in case you forgot he’s an EMT. He is on the same kind of shit schedules that I am and was okay with it. He knew about you and Andy, but whatever. Obviously you don’t understand how we worked, that is fine. But thank you for breaking me even more than I already was today.” She felt the kiss on her head, but she was still flustered. She just wanted to crawl in a hole and just be done with it all. That was when he started talking again. The tears had subsided, but she was so tired of feeling like this. “Well in that case I am putting it off. I am going to hide away and not confront this until I have too” She looked up at him her eyes still glossy from the fresh tears that had just shed from her eyes.
She looked at his hand, took the ice off, and it was not like it was helping that much. The swelling was still there and the color was turning a deep purple. He took the ice from her hand and went and dumped it in the sink. That was when she went and put her tennis shoes back on, and waited for him to get ready. She wondered how he was going to do everything seeing as how he acted like a baby whenever she touched his hand. Spending a few hours in the emergency room was not going to be fun, but it was what needed to be done. She grabbed her keys and spun them on her finger whenever she saw a clothed Lando coming down the stairs. Shayne watched him put his shoes on and then opened the door. “You ready to go? Because we are probably going to be there for a few hours. Might as well go now, but I will tell you that I will be right there with you holding your hand. And maybe I will even come back and play nurse for you afterwards. Now get your little ass down to the car, and you better hope that Jem isn’t working because I really don’t feel like seeing him tonight.” She frowned and then waited for him to get himself down to the car before she drove off to the hospital to get his hand wrapped up and taken care of.

Oh shit, he had just screwed up his words. Damn it. He shook his head instantly, how stupid was he to make those types of mistakes? He was mentally kicking himself in his mind, saying now how stupid he was and all that other stuff. Why did he have to open his freaking mouth? All there was going to say would just hurt her, so why would he even speak? He wanted to help, but with the wrong words coming out of her mouth, he couldn’t stop. He eventually hung his head, shaking it again. Shay, I didn’t mean it like that! I’m sorry; they just slipped out of my mouth! I didn’t mean it. I know he knew all that stuff okay? But it just seems like he didn’t like it. I know how you are Shay, I know how you were with him and all that stuff. But there had to be something wrong for him to go off like that. I know you’re going to kill me for saying all of that, but that’s what I’m thinking it is. I am sorry that it slipped though.
[/b] Landon said. Yup, he was going to keep mentally kicking himself until he felt he was bruised enough in his mind to actually not say anything stupid to her. Why the hell did he open his mouth in the first place? She had, after all, left the question open to him, so he thought he could answer it. Well guess again, he said the wrong stuff instead of the stuff she wanted to hear, and once again, he regretted saying that stuff to her. He didn’t need her more hurt than she already was, and it was feeling that he was hurting her more than James actually was. How could Landon be that pathetic to actually feel like that, and to actually say stuff like that to her? He rolled his eyes then, hesitating about how the pain inflicted him. Yeah, well, I hate ice. Go ahead and call me a Pansy because I already know I am just by this ice thing.[/b] Landon said with a small laugh. She had already called him a baby, so why not add more into it? He knew he was being one because of how his hand was, and he hated showing weakness. He already showed it once tonight, and once again, he was going to show it off again. He literally hated ice, ever since he was a kid too. He never knew why, but he had always known to hate it. You should know I hate ice, besides, there can only be one baby. And nobody puts Baby in the corner. Landon said, making the small reference to Dirty Dancing. Oddly enough, he had LIKED that movie. He went to listen on to what she went on saying about hiding. Landon sighed again. Giving up a bit on how to show her that she couldn’t hide from this. He had an idea, though he didn’t know how well she would enjoy it.. But it was at least worth a try in his book. He was going to choose the wordings right this time, and he knew she might complain about it not being the same, but if you thought about it long enough, it would sound like the same thing. Okay, so say you are in my position –minus the hand part – and I was in your spot.. And I was all emotional and trying to talk to my best friend and all that junk. Tell me that you wouldn’t be doing the same thing as I am. If you can, try to imagine this in my perspective please. Landon said, making the ending sound more like a question than a statement. But either way, it was a statement to him. Finally telling her that he was ready to go, as much as he didn’t want too, he went. Landon had grabbed everything that he needed –being one handed and all – and walked out behind Shayne. Thank god she was going to drive and do all the stuff. Besides, it was just her opinion on how his hand was. He probably would have to have a special doctor look at it, then a normal doc to put the cast on.. Well, wasn’t he lucky? Shove off… okay fine, I’m probably going to need a hand anyways, so why not just grab yours. Besides, yours are soft.. Better than how mine feel… And yes, I am jealous of your soft hands. Landon said with a bit of a laugh at the end. He was just trying to lighten the mood up now, though he knows how that might work out. He was a weird kid and sometimes talked about the strangest things, like her hands being soft for instance. He was just odd like that. He got himself into the car, which he had managed to do, he might as well be crippled, hahaha, and use one hand for the rest of his life. But where would be the fun of that, he would look stumpy if he had one hand and the other was stump. They drove silently to the hospital.. Well not really silent, the music was playing, but it just seemed silent. A small smile appeared on his face then, thinking about it really wasn’t smart, but oh well. Coming back to my house to play nurse? Does that mean you’ll wear the costume too? Or just the scrubs? Of course it would be Landon who would want to know that. He laughed right after it, lightly at it though. He didn’t live to far from the hospital. Just a short drive is all. Half the time of it, Landon was just looking out the window and the snow. He always loved the snow, but not the ice. He hated ice, like I had mentioned before. They got up to the hospital, Shayne finding a spot and parking in it. He didn’t know what the hell was going to go on once he got in there. He rarely came to the hospital unless it was to see Shayne. Well, this time it was to see a doctor. He piled out of the car, shutting the door and heading over to her side of it and walking with her. Shayne, please just stay over for a while. It’ll make me feel better and not worrying about what you’re doing at home alone.[/b] Landon said, making that his ending statement before following behind her again. She knew most of the people here anyways, so she could just talk to them about his hand and god knows what. She could speak her medical talk as Landon could just stand there, looking like an idiot about how he was holding his hand. He probably looked like the biggest dumbass right now. And of course he would be the only one wearing no jacket and his hand up to his chest like he was that guy from hunchback of Notre dame. Can we at least admit that Landon was weird when it came to things, even him making the random thought of him looking like that guy. He looked around, seeing all the other people with better problems than just his hand. Clearly the ice never worked; otherwise he would be at home if it did and not at the hospital, getting his hand checked out by these doctors. Either way, he knew he was coming home with a cast on and not being able to do the things he wanted to do. Which was going to suck majorly now, because how was he going to play the WII? Ha, just kidding, he would find a way to play such things like the WII and the computer. It was Landon; he always found a way to do things when he is told not to. tagged: Shayne status: finished words: 1321 notes: here you goo!
