Little things had started tot take over pieces of her life, like finding someone that was able to fill the Kaler sized hole in her heart, Jared and Randi’s wedding, and the idea of starting another store. It had been a bunch of little things that just seemed to get in the way of her having a good time with Stella. Then again, it still ached her heart a little bit that her sister was with her high school sweetheart. It was still a bitter taste, but something that she was going to have to deal with. It was not like it was Stella’s fault that her sister had decided to fall in love with the man that she really wanted to be with. Well that was until the day that she had met Noah. After that things had slowly and surely started to get back to a semblance of normal. She had a lot on her plate, and most of it had to do with her love life rather than her work. Noah was starting to become a big part of her life, something that she had not been used to in a very long time. It scared her more than anything, because there were very few men that worked their way into her life. She had the habit of cutting them out of her life whenever she felt them getting too close. There was something different about things with her and Noah, there was one thing that she would change though. She hated that Kaler hated him, because Noah was not the asshat that Kaler made him out to be. She was treated like a princess and she adored that. This was the reason she had called Stella and insisted on having a girls night.
Evan had been bouncing around the shop all day whenever Alana came to pick up Ben. Needless to say, the new kid’s fashion line did not get much work done that afternoon. It had been a dream to open a line for kids to use, especially since her nephew was always around her. Besides, she kind of wanted to make Jared and Randi a special wedding gift and have a bunch of new clothes for a baby whenever they decided to go for that. She also just needed someone to talk to about her new relationship, or whatever was going on between herself and Noah. Evan also needed the perspective of someone that did not know her back in high school, and someone that was not currently the only reason she could not keep a stable relationship. So she waited for Stella to get there as she ran around the house in her sweats. Evan could really care less about what she looked like because she was sitting on her couch with her designs spread out in front of her. She had needed to work on these for a while, before Stell got there. They were coming together nicely, but they were far from where they needed to be to open the store. She had been looking at properties, because she wanted something that was family friendly. So it was a bit of a hassle trying to find what she was really looking for. That was when she heard the car pull into her driveway, she put the pencil into her ponytail and gathered up her sketches. This was girl’s night, and she had a lot to gush about! “ STELLA! It is about time! I need to talk to you like last week!” She said before she jumped off the couch and pulled her best friend in the world into a huge hug.She had so much to gush about, and they had been so distant that she needed to catch up like nobody’s business.

Life had been nothing short of hectic for Stella lately. With Evelyn blowing back into town on ridiculously short notice, Vidette coming to her with pregnancy suspicions and eventually a confirmation, and the boy she had only met once but couldn't seem to get off her mind...well, she was tired. Her thoughts were constantly racing about how to keep her sisters apart and Evie as far away from Vidette's new boyfriend, Kaler, as humanly possible. Not to mention, despite her declarations of wanting to play Switzerland in this whole debacle, she knew that she would end up being dragged into the midst of it no matter what. So that was certainly something to look forward to. Needless to say, when Evan had phoned her with the suggestion of a girls night, Stella was quick to say yes. How could she possibly turn down the only chance she may have for quite some time to vent to her best friend, eat junk food, and feel carefree? It had been far too long since the two of them had gotten together for a girls night and Stella was beginning to have withdrawals. So much had happened since the duo last met up, and if she didn't get a chance to vent to someone soon, there was a definite possibility that she would explode, and that was something no one wanted to witness. She was known for being the sweeter, mousier Garland sister, and an emotional breakdown would be the last thing anyone would expect from her. No doubt the rumor mill would get hold of that story and spread it around like wildfire, twisting and contorting it to make it seem like she was psychotic, or something. Hence why she was so excited for an evening with Evan. Movies, gossip, ranting, and junk food would definitely soothe Stella's poor soul.
She had been flitting about Vidette's bakery all day, cleaning counters and packaging baked goods for people to take home and enjoy while Vidette cooked up more food in the back. Their chef had taken the day off, so she had been left in charge of keeping the bakery running while her sister slaved over a hot stove. Oven? Whatever. Either way, she was beyond thrilled to go home and change into a comfortable pair of pajamas and gather up all of the usual items she and Evan needed for their night. It wasn't long before she was back in her car and on her way over to her best friends house, the excitement finally bubbling within her like crazy. She had certainly missed Evan, and she hadn't realized just how much until she was stepping through the door of her house and being ambushed by her in her living room. Stella laughed; "Hi! Well then girl, get to talking!" She smiled, dropping her armful of things on the floor and hopping joyfully onto the couch, patting the cushions next to her in glee. "We have so much to catch up on," she gushed enthusiastically, crossing her legs beneath her indian-style as she thought of all the crazy things she needed to tell Evan about. Evie's return, Viddy's pregnancy (though she would have to be sworn to secrecy on that one), the boy she had met who - coincidentally - happened to be Vidette's ex-boyfriend, and the new puppy in their lives that was named after that same guy. This night had been long overdue.

this template was created by the amazing amber you steal it and there will be an angry baby who will eat your brains no joke. additional notes hai best friend! girls night! <3[/sub] ______________________ Too much time had passed between the girl’s last sleepover, and Evan was surprised. She had so much to tell Stella, that it was driving her insane! She did not even know if Stell knew about her recent decision to open a new store. There had been so much work for that it seemed that almost all of her relationships were faltering, but it was going to change. She needed to make time for her best friend, and that was what mattered. It was not her fault that her sister was dating the only person that her heart had loved; it hurt though. It hurt Evan so much sometimes, but that was what had caused her to go over to Kaler’s home before the wedding. It had needed to be said, and she needed to be away from it all. Evan Matthews was the girl that when heartbreak happened threw herself into her work, and it was a way of keeping the distance between herself and Noah. She knew that she could fall for him, and she had even told Kaler that. Evan knew that Noah was going to be the one she fell for and took that spot in her life that would always be there. Things were so different between her and Noah that it was like breathing. Every other relationship since Kaler had been that way. It bothered her to know that these two men were very opposite and similar, and they both had worked their way into her heart. It was a lot for the blonde to process so it was going to be Stella processing it for her.
When Evan had planned this she had just needed a good junk food, chick flick, no work night with Stella. She knew that her best friend had stuff going on with her, but she had no idea what it was. They really had not talked about it, so that would be what tonight was. Catching up, and she didn’t care if they didn’t sleep at all. That was when the car arrived in the driveway and she was up off her seat giddy with excitement. The blonde knew that she had missed Stella, but she never really realized how much it was until she was about to see her. That was why she was waiting to pounce her with a hug as soon as she entered her house. Evan was so excited that she had not even waited for Stella to put her stuff down on the floor, but she needed to tell her about everything. She watched as her best friend walked over to her couch and sat down indian style, and Evan followed suit. Sitting beside her, she turned and faced her so they could really talk. “I know we have so much to talk about. I don’t even know where to start! Well I guess I could start with the fact that I am opening a new store. That just kind of happened, that is what the mess is. I am opening a baby and kids store here. Ben totally gave me the inspiration to do it, but that is one of the main reasons that I am never around. What about you, anything exciting? I was saving the juicy stuff for later, like boys!” Evan giggled, knowing perfectly well the Stella would be more interested in the boy front than her opening another shop.

It was adorable how excited Evan was as she spoke, gesturing wildly and giggling like mad, as if she had a world of secrets for Stella to uncover and she just couldn't wait to let it all out. It really had been too long since they had seen one another and, in that moment, Stella promised herself that she wouldn't allow them to go this long without seeing each other ever again. A huge grin was plastered on her own face as Evan spoke about her shop, knowing that when she got her heart set on something, she threw all of her efforts into it like her life depended on it. It was nice to see that she was opening a new shop. "Oh Ev, that's great! I bet it's going to be adorable. You know I'm going to want a baby of my own now so he or she can wear your designs," she laughed. "But speaking of babies! I have something huge to tell you. But you can't tell anyone, okay? Especially Kaler. Only Hunter, Shayne, and I know so far and I'm only telling you because you're my best friend and I need to tell someone before I explode!" Stella paused, taking a deep breath and grabbing both of Evan's hands in her own, the excitement obvious on her face. She was well aware of her best friends' past with Kaler, and she knew this news might not sit as well with Evan as it did with her, but she couldn't refrain from sharing this news with her best friend. Her sister was pregnant and she had asked Stella to be the godmother of the baby when it was finally born. She was going to be an aunt and a godmother all in one and there was absolutely no way she couldn't share this information with Evan. "Vidette's pregnant! You don't have to say anything, I know, I know." She didn't want to dwell on it or get into any sort of deep conversation about how Evan still cared about Kaler and the baby she had lost; tonight was not about dwelling on the past. It was about being excited about their futures and moving forward together. So, with that in mind, she quickly moved onto the next topic - Evie. "And Evie's home," she said it so nonchalantly, as if her wicked sister blew into town once a month to bless Arietta with her presence. As if having her home wouldn't be a huge deal and she wasn't the human tornado, causing chaos and damage wherever she went. Then again, Stella was one of the only people who were lucky enough to see the nice side of Evelyn and the kind of person she really was. "I don't know how long she'll be here, but she's, um, sleeping on my couch for now."

Evan knew that when she got excited she had to gesture and overreact; it was who she was. So as she explained about the new store she was all over the place. She was so excited about it that someone besides Kaler needed to know about it. Stella of course was her best friend so there was no reason that Evan would hide this from her best friend in the whole world. She had so much to talk to her about, and the best parts were what she was saving. That was whenever she had turned the floor over to Stella waiting to hear what was going on in her life, but she had not expected the words that she was going to be promising would have this affect on her. “Alright, I won’t tell anyone.” As soon as she had let those words out she wanted to just go die. She was completely numb as Stella was holding her hands basically bubbling with excitement, but here she was telling her that the guy she still cared very much about had gotten another girl, who happened to be her sister, pregnant. Evan wanted to be happy for Kaler, he deserved that much. But why did it have to hurt so much for her to hear those words? Why did the idea of him having a baby with someone else just cut her to a million pieces? Evan pulled a smile out of her ass somewhere and tried to pull the brave face. “Well good for them. I hope they are happy.” That was all that the blonde could muster, and she was happy for Stella because she was going to be an aunt. She had ever reason to be excited, but Evan was sinking into a place that she did not want to be in. That was when she had to think of Noah and pull herself out of this place that she was in. Noah was the bright light that she needed as Stella changed the subject as quickly as she did. The shock that was written on the blonde’s face was priceless. Well this certainly was going to change a lot of things in this town if the human tornado and walking disaster was back. “Wow, wonder what blew her into town? Does Vid know she is back? And wait, she’s on your couch? Are you insane? Evie is bad news, and I know she is your sister but seriously? She has an agenda, and you know it. But moving on from Evie unless you have something to add like her plan? I suggest we move onto boys because I HAVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT SOMEONE!” Her voice got really fast and loud as she basically shouted the last bit. Alright Evan was bubbling with excitement to tell Stella about the adorableness that was Noah at the wedding, and all of the everything that they were. Even if they had not title, but she needed to tell her.

Stella regretted telling Evan about Vidette the moment the words left her lips. It was plain to see that her best friend was not Viddy's biggest fan, what with dating her ex boyfriend and all of that, so bringing up the fact that the newest happy couple in Arietta was expecting a child probably wasn't the smartest idea on her part. But who else could she gush to about things like that? She couldn't tell Kaler for several reasons: One, she didn't particularly like him very much and two, Vidette hadn't exactly told him yet. She couldn't go to Evie because, knowing her, she would somehow convince Kaler that Viddy cheated on him and the baby wasn't his. Or something equally as insane. Talan probably would mope for a few weeks, and Brody could honestly care less. It sucked that the only person who she could tell about the whole ordeal, would be hurt by hearing it. Stella wanted to apologize for bringing it up, but thankfully, Evan seemed to want to move the topic along as quickly as she did, so she didn't push her luck. Hearing her reaction to Evie's return had her smiling, a light laugh escaping her lips as Evan babbled on about how much trouble her sister was. "No, Vidette doesn't know yet. I can't even imagine what would happen if I told her; the poor girl would have a heartattack. But, then again, I can't just let her find out on her own...I don't know. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. And Evie only has an 'agenda' against the people who have wronged her in some way. As long as you don't double cross her, you're safe from her evil wrath." Stella laughed, her eyes widening at Evan's next proclamation. "Don't tell me you met someone! Evan Arlene Matthews, tell me all about him!" It wasn't often that she was able to gush like this with her best friend, not only because they hadn't seen one another in a while but also due to the fact that Evan had spent so long fawning over Kaler that she hadn't had anyone to gush about. It was nice to finally be able to have real girl talk, and maybe she even had a boy of her own to gush about. But only time would tell if that really amounted to anything, though she sincerely hoped it did.

Hearing about Kaler and Vidette had almost completely sunk Evan. It was something that stuck her heartstrings because this was supposed to be her. There were moments whenever she wished more than anything that they could have had their little boy. Evan wanted more than anything else in the world to settle down and have herself a little family. That had been ripped from her, and not kindly either. A miscarriage had ruined her for a few years as she moped through her senior year and then through college. That was until she had stopped moping and put the designs she had been sketching for years into practice. The fashion line she had created was the reason Evan was in such a good place now, and it did not hurt that she had Noah to keep her mind busy and away from Kaler. The change of subject to the Garland sister that had disappeared many moons ago. Evan had learned back then not to cross Evelyn Garland, but that was who she was. Evan had heard many tales about how Evie had tried to ruin everyone and she always had an agenda. Hearing Stella laugh, well it made Evan laugh too. “You don’t think telling Vidette would be a good thing? Doesn’t she need to be prepared for Hurricane Evie, although you are right. She would probably have a heart attack, especially if she found out that you knew about her before. Well, remind me to keep away from her, and not to cross her. Even though I have yet to cross her in all these years, and I am glad that I don’t have to be a person on her agenda.” She smiled, and laughed lightly as her voice grew frantic as she waited for Stella to get as excited about her news. Hearing her full name busted out made her laugh, because Stella knew how Evan was broody over Kaler and his exploits. The past girlfriends had not been a good idea, but she had been good for him. Hopefully Vidette would be good for him too, but Noah he was something totally different than any other man she had encountered. “Well you know the club in town, how the brother’s own it. Well, I am kind of sort of dating, I don’t know if you would call it dating, but the guy is Noah. Stella, I really like him! Like enough that I told Kaler that I liked him, and our first date was Jared and Randi’s wedding. He was SOOOOOOO cute. He gave me is coat when I got cold, and was just adorable.” She was speaking a mile a minute, so she knew that Stella was more than likely going to make her slow down and repeat but she was too excited to tell someone about Noah. He was something else, and she knew it. He was the guy she could fall for, and it terrified and excited her to no end.

Stella was the Garland sister that had the least amount of drama on her back, which was precisely the way she liked it. She had spent the passed couple of months watching Vidette deal with the chaos Kaler brought into her life, and the downward spiral she had been on during those dark months that the two weren't together. And she had to bail Evelyn out of jail more times than she could possibly count. Not to mention, all of the messes she was left to clean up that her sisters' left in their wake. Mostly Evie's messes, but Vidette left her fair share of them back in the day, too. Stella sighed, shrugging her shoulders at Evan's question. Yes, Vidette should know. But, Stella absolutely could not be the one to tell her. "I want to tell her, I do. But, I can't even begin to imagine all the shit Evie would put me through if she found out I spilled the beans. I'd be roadkill, Ev. Besides, I promised I wouldn't say anything to her, and everyone knows I can't break promises." Stella rolled her eyes at herself, wishing more than anything that she had been exaggerating. But, the fact of the matter was, Stella was an honest person. Once she gave someone her word, she stuck to it. Luckily for her, Evie never mentioned that Stella couldn't tell other people about her return. She highly doubted that Evan could even be considered a target on Evie's list, for the sole reason that she was Stella's best friend, and she would like to think that her older sister would be courteous enough to leave someone Stella cared so much for well enough alone. Unless this boy Evan was going to tell her about was the most beautiful boy on the planet, there was really no chance of her ever rubbing Evie the wrong way. And, then Evan mentioned Noah. The Noah. The Noah that women could simply not resist and who would, undoubtedly, catch Evie's attention if she ever laid eyes on him. She made a mental note to herself to make sure that, while her sister was visiting, she would never even know Noah Whitmore existed. "Noah Whitmore, huh?" Stella wagged her eyebrows teasingly, using her elbow to nudge her best friend in a playful manner. "You did good. He's a babe. But, make sure he's good to you, okay? A few dates doesn't make him a one woman kind of guy. The Whitmore brothers have reputations, you know." She wasn't trying to discourage Evan from dating him, just cautioning her against the dangers of becoming too attached to someone who spent his entire life having sex with countless numbers of women. Honestly, Stella was more surprised by the fact that she even understood her friends' incessant babbling than the reveal of this magnificent mans identity.

There were few things in Evan’s life that always made sense, and it was the relationship that she had with her best friend. Both of them had managed to keep most of the drama at bay, and it was nice. Evan did not really have a lot to worry about except her line, her family, and her love life. Which ironically it was always her love life that kept things complicated. Alana and Ben were always easy to figure out, but that was how it seemed to work. Now Stella’s family was another story entirely, her two sisters were always surrounded with this kind of drama or the other. Evan stared at Stella and then shook her head gently. Of course Stella would have told Evie that she wouldn’t say anything to Vid. That was just how she worked, and she was the most loyal person in the world. “You would promise the evil one that you wouldn’t say anything. Sometimes I really question your sanity Stella.” It sent her into a laughing spell before she started with her incessant speed talking about the man that had managed to work himself into her life. Noah was someone that just went against everything that she was used to, but in the same token he held her hand and treated her like she was something special. Noah was so much different with her than he was with the rest of the female population. Which seemed to be Stella’s main concern. “Yes, Noah Whitmore.” Even saying his name brought a smile to her lips. The tilted her head in a scolding manner at Stella. “You know Stell, you sound exactly like Kaler. He doesn’t like Noah, and he doesn’t trust him. I know all about his reputation, but it’s not like we are committed to each other or anything. Not like he tried to propose or anything. We kind of just are here ya know? It’s just dating? I don’t know, we can’t explain it. We just are where we want to be, and I like him Stella. I really really like him. And reputations are not always exactly as they seem, but I think I’ll take my chances.” She smiled before speaking again. “Well any news on your end? Any boys making moves on my bestie?”
