I know, girly. The rain was terrible. I'm used to cold but not rain - rain is miserable. And yeah, those assault charges were bad. They were only dropped because I batted my lashes nicely and slipped the judge almost two grand. By the way, you still owe me for that! Okay, no discussing Houston. Got it. [sighs] Fine. I won't tell her a thing. You have my word. No, I don't pick favorites! It only seems like I do because I'm always running to your aid. But, really, I don't. I never have. I was neutral even when one of you told mom that there was a rumor going around school that I was a coke addicted whore and she grounded me for the rest of junior year. You blamed it on each other, and I wasn't mad at either of you. I can handle you better than you can handle yourself, missy.

I'm not asking for a two thousand dollar check in my hand by tomorrow, Ev. I want one thing and one thing only, and it's not a difficult thing. I want a birthday for all three of us - yes, that means Vidette too - like we used to have in high school. It's the first time since sophomore year that we'll all be together for our birthdays and I really want to celebrate with both of my sisters. Please? If Vidette were off getting herself arrested every other month, I would have gone to her aid too. Don't ask me to choose between you because I can't. I love you both no matter what, okay? And I don't really care who it was. It's in the past, I moved on, mom forgot about it and I obviously don't do coke. [smirks] Actually, I think I've been the one taking care of you for ages. I am the one who's been racing around the country trying to bail your ass out of trouble every time you call for help.

Yes, that is precisely what I want. I'm not saying you and Vid have to talk; I'll do all of the planning and she can go about ignoring you while you scheme to ruin her life some more. You wouldn't be able to have a house or a job or anything like that, because you would be left to rot in jail. And I always make sure the charges are dropped and nothing ever goes on your record, because I'm a nice sister and I'm hoping that someday you'll want to find yourself a real job, and the last thing you'll need is for them to find a billion arrest records on you. So technically, I am the one taking care of you. Who says I'm happy in Arietta? I'm just too pathetic to leave.

You've been plotting to ruin her life ever since you developed feelings for James. Who, by the way, she didn't date for very long. I've always been good at figuring you out, Evie. Vidette too. I grew up admiring you two, so of course I noticed the little things. Ew, but you would have to wear that horrendous orange jumpsuit, so I actually did you a huge favor by bailing you out. Orange just isn't your color, love. Thank you for admitting that, even though you don't mean a word of it [smiles]. I had a reason to stay when I was in college. I don't know why I stayed after I dropped out.

I said I grew up admiring you, not that I still do [smirks]. You used to be kind of nice once upon a time. Yeah, because they would have made an exception if they heard you were coming. 'Oh, Evie is joining us in lock up? Well then, she needs to have her own special blue jumpsuit!' [laughs] Oh definitely, I'm just way too cool for your wild adventures. I'm not defending her, I'm basically calling her dense. I kind of do enjoy it, because if I didn't have to save you every other month, I wouldn't be able to see you much.
