Unpacking was probably the worst part of moving, other than actually packing all the stuff in the first place, yeah that was a bad thing too. You start to find things though, stuff that you had no idea you had in the first place, either that or stuff you knew you had and just found it now. Well, Raquel Vega wasn't really that lucky, everything she found was stuff that she wanted to stay hidden, for a while actually. Old pictures, old memories, she quickly threw that stuff into a box and kept moving on. For a while now, she had been bunking with one of her good friends, though they had their differences and Rockie finally figured that it was time for her to move out. Didn't really take her very long to find a new place, though she wasn't really happy with the small sized apartment she got, at least it had a balcony. Everything was going a bit better, she was finally able to live on her own, though it was a bit lonely, she wasn't going to admit that at all. The new place was empty, well except for the needed things, like a bed, a fridge, and a computer desk. She hadn't been able to muster up the money to buy a couch, or even a television, but hey there was a radio sitting by and her computer had television on it. There were boxes all over the place, some in the bedroom, some in the kitchen, some in the living room, pretty much all over the place. Unpacking was really not something she wanted to do, so here she was laying on her bed which had no sheets on it whatsoever, but she didn't seem to mind.
The phone next to her ringing was what woke her up, she didn't even look at the name that flashed on the screen, nor the picture that also popped up. After having answered it, talking for about an hour, she realized what she just got herself into. Sophie Duhmel was what she just got herself into, not literally but mind as well be. She placed down the phone onto the mattress, staring at the ceiling and cursing at herself. She was in no way ready for this, she was in no way ever going to be ready for this. Sophie had been involved in her life a very long time ago, her confidant and the girl she had fallen for. There had been a time that Rockie found herself weak enough to say the words 'I love you' to this girl, until the other flipped out on her. For a full year Rockie thought she had done something horrible, all the promises that were broken, all the words that were a mixture of lies, that was the one reason why she ran. Something like that scared the crap out of her, and she refused to allow herself to get close to anyone ever again, the reason her whole thing with Shayne also scared her. Rockie was over that now though, she moved out of Shayne's home and was out on her own.
And, right about now she should probably be getting up, actually getting clothes on and maybe making herself look decent. She knew she couldn't avoid something like this, and it seemed like she was going to have to confront it right about now. Sitting up from the bed, she stood up and looked in the mirror in the bathroom, grimacing at her reflection and starting with putting on some make up. She released her hair from the ponytail that it was in, allowing her raven hair to hit her bare tan shoulders, her dark eyes still glued to her reflection. She applied some eye-liner, fluffed her hair and seemed like she was satisfied with her look as of now. Removing herself from the bathroom, she moved in the boxed up living room, placing her hands on her hips and not really knowing where to start. Well, she had promised not to get fully dressed, meaning the shorts and sports bra was enough for this type of occasion and the blonde also said she was going to unpack for her. Rockie was a little hesitant in letting the female live with her, but... truth was... she never stopped loving the girl. It was stupid of her, Raquel never showed emotion, never showed anything and here she was ready to allow this girl who broke promises and lied to her, to move in.
No matter how stupid Rockie sounded, she knew where she stood in the world. She believed herself to be at the top, training to be a cheerleader had given her the body and had also given her the status she prized in high school. As of right now, most of Arietta knew to stay away from her, she threatened to murder a few people that dared cross her path, or her friends' path. Friends weren't really common for her, she had about three, two of which were high school friends, and the other was a frenemy. She didn't really know where to place Sophie just yet, somewhere between friend and confusion, if that made any sense. Hearing the knock on the door, her thoughts were startled, causing her to look up at it and just stare. Was she ready for this confrontation? Probably not, but here she was already walking for the door. She breathed in deep, causing her chest to rise than fall, her hand touching the door knob. She waited a few seconds, trying not to make herself seem too desperate, since that would of made her seem like she ran to the door. Opening the door, she released a breath she hadn't known to be holding, locking eyes with the female before her and allowing them to drift downwards. Shit, this was going to be harder than Rockie had planned, how could someone who was already beautiful, get even more beautiful. "...Hi." She squeaked out, lifting her eyes back to the females face. No, she didn't really care if she got caught checking out the other female, it was normal for her, but she had no idea how the rest of this night would go.

Coming home hadn't necessarily been on Sophie Duhmel's agenda for another three or four years. Possibly even five or six if she were lucky. Maybe she would never come back if God decided to provide her with a miracle. But life never did work out as well as she had hoped, so she consequently found herself in Arietta a few years premature. Her return wasn't as difficult as she had expected it would be, especially because she now attended the local college and didn't feel the need to venture out on the town unless she was buying groceries or other necessities, which made it nearly impossible for her to run into anyone she knew. As terrible as that all sounded, she wasn't hiding out at the university to be a loner bitch. It was because she wasn't exactly ready to face her old friends and neighbors, who would all be curious as to why she left and never came back. Until now, that is. There was no doubt in her mind that her return would stir up the rumor mill and soon the entire town would be questioning where she had gone and why she was suddenly back without any warning. She almost had a complex on the plane ride home, her sunkissed skin feeling hot and itchy as she stepped out of the aircraft and into the terminal at the closest airport a town or two over. No, she didn't know anyone here, but she still felt out of place and sinful for even bothering to step foot on Maine soil ever again. It wasn't as if she had done anything wrong to feel this way, but she had been gone for quite some time now, not bothering to keep in contact with anyone she had grown up with. Sophie could only imagine what her old friends must have thought about her departure, and what they would ultimately think of her return, and the very thought of it all made her nervous and anxious all at the same time. So, until she was ready to face her demons, she would gladly stay hidden away in her little dorm room with her obnoxious slob of a roommate.
The fact of the matter was, Sophie hadn't had any intention of being gone this long. Honestly, she hadn't intended on being 'gone' at all. She had left a little over a year ago on a trip to her aunt's house in Hawaii, which was only supposed to last a total of three months. One summer, that was all. Having a summer fling wasn't completely out of the question, but she never expected to meet Wyatt nor did she expect the effect he seemed to have on her. Wyatt was the perfect gentleman, only a year or two older than herself, and he was exactly the right kind of distraction Sophie needed from the altercation she had with her best friend, Rockie, before leaving Arietta. He took her mind off of Rockie's confession and the way she had reacted to it and, within three months, he managed to sweep her off her feet and have her falling head over heels in love with him. Well, she thought it was love. In reality it was only a powerful infatuation, but to her, it was close enough. Sophie had been heartbroken when she found out he was cheating on her, and the excuse he sputtered out to her was something along the lines of "Baby, she came at me! It meant nothing!" Right, she really believed that one. It takes two people to have sex, and considering he wasn't heavily sedated by the date rape drug at the time, she hardly doubted the act wasn't consensual. Needless to say, she no longer had any desire to stay in Hawaii, nothing keeping her there and no real pull to the island itself. Sure, it was beautiful there and she didn't mind spending day after day suntanning on the beach, but this wasn't her home. She didn't have real friends there and her aunt was on some business trip in Rome during that time, so why should she stay? Returning to Arietta wasn't her biggest dream, considering she was known for being anti-cold weather and it was absolutely freezing in January, but she really didn't have much of a choice. Her parents helped her enroll in university for the spring semester and she moved all of her things into the shitty little dorm she now inhabited, where she had been staying for a little over two months now.
She didn't really know what possessed her to phone Rockie, considering that the two hadn't exactly parted on good terms. But being home filled Sophie with a serious case of nostalgia and her entire body ached for her best friend, the need to speak to her and see her face again becoming a bit too much to handle. The invitation Rockie had expressed to her had been rather unexpected but certainly not unwelcome, and Sophie was all too quick to pack a bag and hop in her little Nissan; she had no idea where this would lead, but she couldn't deny that it excited her. Sophie's breath caught in her chest as Rockie opened her door, her eyes drifting up and down her small body shamelessly, as if nothing had changed at all. She smiled a bit, a blush creeping up into her already darkened cheeks and she nervously bit down on her lower lip, not really knowing what to do with herself. "Hi," she breathed, taking in the sight of her old best friend wearing...well, hardly anything. She had definitely made good on her promise. Sophie herself was only wearing a pair of red and white plaid pajama pants, a ripped Iron Maiden cut-off t-shirt and a black peacoat to shield her arms from the bitter cold, but Rockie was wearing much less than she was. "I didn't think you actually meant that you would answer the door half dressed," Sophie teased, motioning with her head to the clothes - or lack thereof - that Rockie chose to wear. It wasn't uncommon to see the girl this way, as it was how she had always dressed when the duo had sleepovers back in high school. But that was the pre-'I love you' phase, and this was the post 'I love you' phase. Which didn't really make that much of a difference, but it was fairly obvious that Sophie had absolutely no idea how to act around Raquel anymore.

It seemed like Rockie and Sophie committed the same thing, running away and making sure to never look back. When Rockie ran, it was because of Sophie, because of their harsh departure, she was not about to let anyone see her cry. She kept in contact with Shayne, texted her every now and then to make sure that things were going okay over there. She dropped everyone else off the list, always opening a text to Sophie than remembering their last meeting. It was hard to say you loved someone and not have it returned, it happened twice now to the Latina, and she was done. Love was just a mere word, feelings were useless and she shut herself down. She had done this once before in high school, actually all of her high school years, she decided in order to keep people respecting her, they needed to be scared of her. She kept Sophie and Lexie in her loop, the ones that saw the different side of her, but no one else would dare see that side. She wondered just how much Sophie had changed though, where ever the female had gone, Rockie hoped that it did well for her to loosen up. But, that didn't mean the brunette was just going to fall for her again, she had a lot of experience with hiding emotions now, and she was going to make sure that she hid every last one.
One thing Rockie hated being forgotten about, she made sure to make an impression on people for that very reason. Charlie still remembered her, and she hadn't seen that girl in a few years, but she knew she remembered the things Rockie had done to her in high school. Okay, so maybe she was sorry just a bit for those, but they were young and had statuses to keep up. Every day though, her mind rushed with the thoughts of Sophie, remembering her saying she wanted to be her first girl kiss, first everything.... yet when those three little words spilled from Rockie's mouth, she was kicked to the side. Couldn't blame her for being so bitter, but finding those pictures as she packed, actually pained her. A smile had even graced her features, at the funny pictures and even the sweet ones, Rockie actually missed all of this. She missed being herself with the girl, missed being able to let her guard down, but like hell she'll be doing that again. Her guard would remain up the whole entire time, she would refuse to allow herself to fall for the ploys of the blonde yet again. Raquel didn't really see herself being loved any time soon, she was too much of a bitch for that and she knew it. It pained to think she was going to spend the rest of her life by herself, that she wouldn't actually be able to be a normal couple with anyone. She didn't believe there was anyone out there for her. After Shayne had well... Rockie never had Shayne in the first place, they were just close friends and it had been the Latina's fault. She ran away from her mistakes, and she was running from the one named Shayne. She had been running from the mistake named Sophie for far too long, it was time for her to own up to this one and maybe finally get over it. They could be friends again, Raquel would still make obvious passes at her but those just sorta came naturally, she did it to hot girls and the girls she liked. Her own place was sorta empty without another body, she had been thinking about getting some fish, but asking Sophie to move in was interesting. It seemed like Rockie would be taking the leather couch for a while, until she could afford another bed. Since, she was more than sure that Sophie would never share a bed with her, not after... well last year.
They parted on rather horrible terms, and truthfully Rockie wasn't all too sure about this whole mishap she got herself involved in. She knew Sophie didn't have the same mindset as her, she showed that rather obviously not too long ago. But, there was no way for Raquel to not take her back, she melted each time she saw those hazel eyes of hers. People used to ask why they were always together, Rockie would just threaten to beat them up and they were far far away. Rockie couldn't help but smirk when she saw the blush creep upon the pale girl's cheeks, realizing that not much had changed at all. "How cute." She smiled, poking the blonde's cheek and then backing up. She noticed the way the other female was looking at her, seeming not to be disappointed either, which pleased the darker girl to the extreme. "Like what you see? I never disappoint, you know. But, as of right now, I'm cold, so get the hell inside." She said, leaning forward as if teasingly and grabbing the other female's bag and gesturing her to enter. It was indeed cold outside, and she was pretty much dressed like it was summer outside. "So, time to get that tight ass into action now, Blondie." She smirked, smacking the pale girl's behind as she walked in. Oh how daring she was indeed, this was the normal Raquel though, she wasn't about to let their one year absence together drain their friendship. She loved seeing the other girl blush, she also loved seeing the other girl smile, crap she really could never find something bad about Sophie. She made sure to smile innocently after she smacked the other girl right on the bum, making sure that she wouldn't be punished for that. Since, she very well knew that Sophie had a bitch side to her as well, a very dangerous bitch side that she saw in high school.

Contrary to popular belief, Sophie hadn't decided to spend that summer in Hawaii out of a unquenchable desire to see palm trees and the tiki bars systematically placed on the beaches. Rather, she had packed her bags and made the flight as a last minute resource, so she wouldn't have to face the mistake she had made in her fight with Raquel. It was a cowardly move, sure. But she had fully intended on coming back at the end of summer and making ammends with her best friend to the best of her ability, and perhaps putting the whole 'I love you' debacle behind them. As if it never happened. But, the truth was, it had happened and there was no going back from that. Even running to Hawaii hadn't made the problem go away, though she had sincerely hoped that both she and Rockie would completely forget about it and let the issue dissolve into thin air. Like she could return from Hawaii and meet up with Raquel and there would be absolutely no tension at all, no apology to be made because the situation hadn't even happened and Sophie's little vacation had been completely normal. Though that was the farthest thing from the case, and the problem hadn't gone away, but, then again, Sophie didn't necessarily come home right away, either. She knew Rockie deserved an apology, one that involved lots of Sophie's delicious home cooking and naming a star after her and taking her to Times Square in New York City where Rockie's name followed by an apology would be flashing in lights on that scrolling banner thing. It all seemed so fitting, and yet not quite enough. Sophie honestly hadn't meant to abandon Rockie the way she did, and she certainly hadn't meant to break the girls' heart that way, but she had panicked. What did Raquel expect her to do? Dropping a bomb on her like that had been completely unfair - or so it had seemed, at the time - and Sophie had absolutely no idea how to respond to her. She couldn't very well lie and say she loved her too, but she also couldn't lie and say that she didn't love her at all. There had always been a lot of confusion on Sophie's part surrounding her friendship with Rockie, and she had never taken the time to confront it and figure out just why she constantly found herself wanting to brush hair out of her friends' face or cuddle with her when they had sleepovers. And then the 'I love you' thing made her want to say it back, and then, before she knew it, she was screaming at Rockie. Telling her that she would never love her that way and on and on and on, before finally leaving. Destination: Anywhere but Maine.
Though, it seemed that, despite how many apologies Sophie owed her and how royally she had fucked up, Rockie didn't seem to mind all too much. Well, Sophie knew she minded. She knew that she was probably still upset and it wasn't just going to go away because Sophie wished it to, but opening her home to her and willingly answered the door in next to nothing. When Rockie poked her cheek, Sophie's blush only increased tenfold, and she so badly wanted to say "I'm not cute, Rock!" but that would do her no good, because knowing Rockie, it would fly under the radar and go completely ignored. She had to admit, Rockie looked just as beautiful now as she did last year, maybe even more so. Sophie had always been a bit jealous of her, envying her dark complexion and amazingly tight body. No matter how many years Sophie did cheerleading, or how many miles she ran every day, she was never able to attain Rockie's figure. Sure, she was thin and toned, but not to the extent that Raquel was. If it were possible, her blush deepened even more when she was caught staring, but she smiled nevertheless and rolled her eyes playfully, as if it didn't effect her at all. "Maybe you should have thought about that before you answered the door half naked," Sophie teased, side-stepping Rockie and making her way into the apartment. And as she went, a hand came down on her ass and caused her to squeal, jumping around to face her friend with a startled expression. She had forgotten that Rockie used to do that to her all the time, and back in the day, she had learned to expect it. Not anymore, apparently. At the sight of the girls' innocent smile, Sophie smirked and a mischievous glint twinkled in her dark brown eyes. Two could play at this game, and she could totally play harder and better than Rockie ever could. She was Rockie's weakness, after all. After dropping her coat onto the nearest piece of furniture and releasing her hair from it's ponytail, she made her way over to one of the boxes, bending over just enough to make it impossible for Rockie to not stare at her ass. The duo had always teased each other like this in high school, but back then it had been just a game. Sophie wasn't entirely sure what this all meant now, and why she still wanted to go out of her way to get Rockie's attention, but it was just as fun now as it was back then, and she wasn't about to stop until Rockie did. "Where do you want some of this stuff?" she asked, straightening back out and tossing her hair over her shoulder, her shirt lifting up just slightly with the action, though Sophie barely noticed.

There was no way that Raquel was just accepting Sophie with open arms, there was just no way. She was terrified of the situation, she kept reliving it in her head, over and over again. When the same mishap happened with Shayne, she knew that Rockie must of just had bad luck all together. The girl standing in front of her right now was someone she always saw herself loving, enjoying her company and even someone she may be able to spend her life with. Things have changed though, even if she could still see all those things, she needed to find a way to actually forgive the girl. And the first step that she was going to have Sophie take, was actually showing that she was even remotely interested in her at all. She was confused, by the way that Sophie was really presenting herself right now, but maybe in time she'd learn what that is all about. If the blonde really wanted another chance, she was going to have to work for it and though Rockie would play with her, some work needs to be done on both sides. It was sorta like damage control right now, cleaning up the mess that happened years ago, hopefully they could sweep that right under the rug. Over the year, there were so many times that Rockie would sit up in bed having a nightmare of growing old alone, and she could very well say that she feared that all the time. She got so hung up on Sophie, the beautiful hazel eyed girl had become her supreme weakness.
Truthfully, all this time, it had been the darker girl envying the other, constantly she wanted to look like Sophie. The abs, the amazing eyes, everything about her was something that Rockie saw herself wanting. She had fallen in love with her personality though, even if they were so much alike in high school. Both of them were head bitches, both out to get each other and strive for the top, they butted heads most of the time. Now, look at them, they were no longer in a unholy trinity, though she was pretty sure that Lexie would enjoy seeing their blonde friend back as well, they'd never be as close. Until Rockie got the apology she wanted, she wasn't sure if they'd be the same ever again. Rockie's eyes followed the female as she stepped in, shutting the door behind her and walking a few more steps inside as well. Her eyes went wide as the lighter girl bent over, biting her lip a few times and just admiring. Oh, she knew what Sophie was doing now, playing the game of 'who would give in first.' This game was played by both of them, when they were in high school, they played it in the hallways, the cheerleading outfits were quite the teasing pieces of clothing. Rockie soon regained herself, and walked towards the female, running her fingers teasingly down the blonde's spine as she was bent. Walking past Sophie and into the bedroom area, she placed down the bag, running a hand through her hair as well when she walked passed the mirror again. She heard the blond speak again, looking back at her and just in time to see her shirt rise a bit, causing Rockie to bite her lip again. Oh how she was holding herself back from just pouncing right now, it was so hard to do such a thing. She shot her eyes back up to those hazel ones staring at her, regaining feeling in her legs and walking forward next to the girl. "Hm, well. This is really just a bunch of old photo albums... our year book, and maybe... oh... my old cheer outfit." She laughed, getting close enough so that their arms were touching as Rockie leaned in front of the other, grabbing the cheer uniform from the box. She held the top up to her body, as if sizing herself and seeing if this would actually still fit. Probably not so much in the chest area, as well as the butt, but the rest may. "Maybe I should try it on, for old times sake. Might be a little snug." She smirked, making sure that her arm was brushing Sophie's. It gave her tiny shivers, skin touching skin, she wanted more but right now it was time to tease the crap out of Sophie. "Be right back." She said, tapping the pale girl's arm and rushing to her bedroom. It took a few minutes, and some squeezing into, but it happened. But... she had a little trick planned out, leaving the back of the shirt unzipped. "S, a little help please? This makes me feel fat." She lied, she could of zipped that right up perfectly, but calling to the blond would be fun. It seemed in three years, she had gotten taller, causing the skirt to show off more skin than she had planned. The top, it raised, making her stomach show as well as her hip bones and her whole back exposed. "...okay really, this is just sad." She pouted, knowing that this outfit was probably a pretty interesting trick, but it was still tight. She felt like she was holding her breath, but... she never thought that in little over three years and she'd grown that much. Shrugging it off, she focused at the task at hand, which was going to be a task for the rest of the night, making Sophie give in.
