Most morning it would have taken an army to drag Jacqueline from her bed, digging her out from under the ridiculous amount of pillows and numerous blankets and throws that were piled atop the low mattress. Today was an exception however, and Jacqueline woke surprisingly well rested, and lacking the usual desire to smack the snooze button on her alarm several times over. In fact, today she had even beaten her alarm, awake before it was time for it to begin it's obnoxious chiming. Blinking and rubbing her eyes Jacqueline swung her legs out from under the covers, wincing in displeasure as her bare feet met the cold flooring. Searching blindly, feeling around with her toes Jacqueline located her slippers, sliding her feet inside gratefully. Stretching her arms up high above her head Jacqueline murmured in content as her back arched, cracking softly with the movement. It was strange, to be this alert, this early in the morning and Jac was almost unnerved by it. Shrugging it off she moved to stand, adjusting the hem of tank top that had ridden high above the waist of her shorts. The young women paused as she stood, tilting her head to the side slightly, listening for any indication of conscience from her roommate.
She couldn't detect any sounds, after a moment of careful listening, and a wide grin tugged at the corners of her lips. It would be nice to have a few hours, uninterrupted by him. Lord, she could barely stand the man. Actually, she couldn't stand him in the slightest. The only redeeming quality about him were the rent cheques he brought with him. Everything else about him was a complete annoyance, and Jac couldn't believe her misfortune, now that she was stuck sharing an apartment with him. If she hadn't been so desperate for a way to cover the rent she would have already kicked his sorry ass out of the place, but there had been no other interest in the room, and Jacqueline needed to keep it occupied, if she had any hopes of covering rent and tuition. To be perfectly honest, he brought out the worst in her, as well. He aggravated her to such an extent that Jacqueline couldn't resist returning the favor, ensuring that almost all of her actions would annoy him in some way. Childish, sure, but it sure made her feel a hell of a lot better. If only he would stop commenting on everything she did! It felt as if she were living with her mother again, the constant remarks on social life; the partying, the drinking, the boys. Especially the boys. Jacqueline couldn't recall a single conversation she'd held with Dominic that hadn't involved some slur against her. Whore, slut. She heard it all from him, and it had started to wear thin a long time ago. So what if she liked sex? It was her body, her life and he had no right to judge her. However, until she came up with a better solution to her financial problems she was stuck with him.
At least she had a few hours of peace, until he woke up. Glancing at the clock once more Jacqueline hoped he wouldn't wake up early this particular saturday, grabbing her iPod off the desk as she passed out of her bedroom. When she entered the hall she cast a quick look towards his door, but closed firmly it revealed nothing about the occupants. Still fast asleep, Jacqueline hoped. Padding softly down the hall towards the kitchen Jacqueline slipped in her earbuds, cranking the music up loud enough to block out any outside now and busying her self with putting the coffee on.
Dancing about the small kitchen unit Jacqueline waited impatiently for the coffee to finish brewing, finally deciding to pass the time by getting ready for the day ahead, starting with brushing her teeth and washing her face. Mouthing along to the music blasting in her Jacqueline made her way to the shared bathroom, oblivious to anything else around her as she pushed open the door and stepped inside, immediately greeted by a rush of moist, warm air. Dominic Henry Bennett Dominic was always up early. It wasn't that he didn't like sleeping in, but his mind was always filled with thoughts of one kind or another, and the result was that he was always awake at around five or six in the morning. He wasn't interrupting anyone though. He was simply laying in bed with his lamp on, reading a book and waiting until the sun came up so he could take a shower and get ready for the day ahead of classes. Plus his thoughts kept returning to his current situation and that stupid will his father had left behind when he'd died.
Dominic's life was much more complicated than what that idiotic roommate of his seemed to think it was. For starters, the will dictated that he couldn't take control of his father's company until he was finished with college, which was why Dominic did so well. He wanted to get out of there early and as fast as possible so he could move into his rightful place. The second requirement of said will was that he be married before he was allowed control of the company. The old man was spiteful like that.
The truth was that they'd had a conversation before his father had died that he could only assume was the reason for the marriage thing. His father had asked him to come visit him in the hospital, and Dominic had gone, expecting another lecture about business or what he was doing wrong with his life. He'd been caught off guard though when his father had asked him if he had a woman in his life. Dominic had never had much interest in dating or romance. Only to become successful and important in life. Compared to that, romance took a back seat.
He'd told his father as much, and then gotten a lecture about the importance of family. That meeting the right woman would change him forever, whether he liked it or not, etc. Dominic had shrugged it off as his father feeling sentimental about his own ruined marriage to his mother years before. That was until after his father's death when he'd expected to gain control of the company, and instead gotten two obstacles put in his way before that, the latter much more frustrating than the first. It didn't help that the woman he was living with currently didn't give him much faith in the entire gender.
Jacqueline was rude, impulsive, impatient, and promiscuous. Beautiful, yes, but that meant nothing to him in a woman unless there was some kind of substance behind it, which as far as he could tell with her, there was none. He didn't understand how a person could have no redeeming qualities, but there she was. Not that it really mattered since he was only living with her, but for some reason he couldn't help but tell her all the things that were wrong with her whenever they were around each other. She just seemed to bring out the worst in him and he loathed it.
The thoughts of her were starting to get him annoyed now, and the sun had come up anyway, so Dominic set his book down and decided to take a shower to calm himself down a little. He was about to get out of bed when he heard the noise of footsteps coming down the hallway. Jacqueline must have been awake early for some reason, and he did not want to run into her first thing in the morning. The man waited until they were gone before slipping out of bed and grabbing a towel and then headed to the bathroom they shared, turning the water on warm before he hung the towel on a hook and undressed.
As he stepped into the stream of water, Dominic sighed with relief. He always felt better after a shower and it helped him wake up, which in turn helped because he could deal with Jacqueline better when he was more awake. Since she was already up, which was unusual for her, he knew he'd see her soon, and that required some mental preparation on his part. He just hoped that this morning's argument would be short so he could leave and get to the college quickly. As soon as he was done showering, Dominic shut off the water and stepped out.
Just as he was about to grab the towel off the hook to dry off though, the door to the bathroom opened and there stood the object of his distaste. At first the sight of Jacqueline shocked him, and he stood there frozen like a deer in headlights for a moment before he grabbed the towel and covered himself quickly, yelling, "What the hell are you doing!? Get out of here, you pervert! Didn't you hear the fucking shower!?" A glare crossed his features as he waited for her to answer him. Dominic simply hoped now that she hadn't seen every part of him naked when she'd come in. He wanted to keep some of his dignity intact, after all.

It took a moment for Jacqueline to realize what she had just done, and a moment longer for her still sleep addled mind to react to what she was seeing. At first all she wanted to do was die of embarrassment, turn right back around and dive into her bed for the rest of the month. Instead, Jacqueline fought the impulse urging her to retreat, stopping just in the doorway. She could hear his shouts, muffled under the thrumming bass of her music, but Jac could easily read the anger on his face. Taking a breath Jac reached up slowly, tugging out her ear buds and making a show of running her eyes up and down him quickly, despite the towel he had quickly grabbed upon her entrance. She hadn't seen much, just the quickest glance of wet skin and muscle before he had covered himself up, but he didn't know what and Jacqueline certainly wasn't planning on enlightening him on the issue. Tossing a dismissive laugh in his direction Jac turned away from his, directing her gaze into the mirror and pausing a minute before she spoke, combing through her hair with her fingers as she thought at her next weeks. "Calm the fuck down. It isn't as if there was anything much to see." A wickedly mischievous smirk shifted on her lips, and Jac glanced at him over her shoulder. "But maybe someone should hit the gym more..Just a suggestion."
She had never noticed before, too consumed by her complete hatred of the man, but he was undeniably gorgeous. Not that she'd ever admit it, even under the cruelest methods of torture.Forcing the memory of what she had just seen out of her thoughts Jacqueline took a short breath, trying to plan her next move. It was admittedly awkward, just standing her but she was enjoying a vaguely sadistic pleasure, watching him squirm, and at the moment the enjoyment was seriously outweighing the awkwardness of the situation.Besides which, she wasn't the one standing with nothing more then a towel to cover his blatant nakedness. Darting another glance back at him, keeping certain that her gaze stayed solely on his face Jacqueline turned to leave, stepping out of the bathroom and returning once more to the kitchen, calling out another taunt without looking back."I really do mean it, about the gym. That flab is really not working for you."
Pouring herself a cup of coffee and mixing in her usual amount of cream and sugar Jacqueline took a seat, perching on her chair and simply waiting. She knew that this wasn't the end of this, not even close, and she was more then aware that Dominic would manage to find some way to twist this back at her, but for now she'd enjoy her minute victory. Taking a sip of her coffee Jacqueline wondered why she always did this. She had never been able to just let things lie. The woman was constantly stirring up one type of trouble or another, and more often then not the trouble involved or revolved around the opposite sex. She supposed that if you were willing to buy into the psycho babble the counselors at school had feed her, if could all be pin pointed on the lack of a father figure during her childhood, but Jac knew that was bullshit. She was just, as Sebastian had said, backwards and as far as she was concerned, she didn't need a reason for that. TAGGED; dom NOTES; short, >> OUTFIT; CLICK. WORDS; 583,
