Once upon a time there was a girl who was sweet and innocent and that was who she was. A little blonde that had fallen in love and had all of those things taken from her. These days Evan Matthews was not as innocent as she had once been, seeing as how she had dated the resident manwhore for her first love. Kaler Scott had captured the blonde’s heart long ago, and that had always been the way it was. She had fallen for him, and up until recently she had only thought the way that she would be happy again was in his arms. She had wanted a family with him, and was very close to getting that whenever she was still in high school. That was until she had a miscarriage and lost their little one. A little boy, and after that things had not been the same. She had fallen down into a very dark hole, and that was the way that she had lived for a few years. Evan was a bubbly person, and that was why she had managed to get through the last few years of her life. Ever since Kaler had moved to Arietta, things had been difficult for the blonde. She wanted him in her life, but neither of them were the same people that they had been in high school. She knew that, and she was trying so damn hard to fill the void that was a strict Kaler size hole in her heart. It was something she hated, but that was what throwing herself in her work.
Thankfully that was the whole reason that she had been talking to Gabriel Morgan that afternoon. He was such a sweetheart and that made Evan thankful that there was one sweet guy in her life. He had managed to keep her on the phone long enough to agree to a non-date. Evan was hardly looking to label whatever they had, because she was the girl that did not want to fall in love right now. Not when her heart was still being eaten up with the fact that she wanted Kaler. It was who she was, but Gabe was a good friend of hers. A friend that wanted to help her expand her little boutique, something that she was barely being able to keep afloat because she knew nothing about the whole business thing. She had it worked out so far though, and the shop always did well. Her designs were well accepted in Arietta, and maybe it was because that sweet, little innocent girl had always grown up there. She had friends that she kept close, like Mykayla and Gabe, but she did not really grow up there. Not for the end of her teenage years, but that was why she was having such a hard time adjusting. The blonde girl had gotten ready for her non date, and was happy to see her awkward friend standing on her doorstep with three roses. It was adorable the way that he treated her, taking her to the restaurant and just being Gabe. It made her think that these would be the most amazing thing to happen to her right now, because Gabe treated her like a princess. Now they were walking back to her house, eating ice cream.
Evan felt like she was back in high school, and this was the way that she felt. She had kissed him a few times while they were on their way back to her apartment. She smirked at him as she licked her ice cream. That was when she got the brilliant idea to push his ice cream cone against his nose as she walked to the doorstep of her house. “Well you look even more adorable with ice cream on your nose. Thank you for this Gabe. I really needed a night away from everything to clear my mind and remind myself of what makes me, well me. Everything just seems so screwed up, but you are the most amazing thing to walk into my life right now.”
She smiled and licked the ice cream off his nose and kissed his lips gently. She was happy that he was willing to come into her life and be all sweet. “Do you want to come in? I could use the company.” She looked at him with her eyes and hoped that his answer was yes because she really could like this guy. For this boy, there had never really been many people who took notice to him. Gabriel Morgan really just blended in with the crowd, and that's how he had wanted it all along. Being noticed brought attention, in which turned into drama, and he wasn't looking for that at all. He had friends, nerdy ones that he lost after high school, now enrolling in college, he wasn't sure if he could call anyone his friend. At least now he wasn't looked down upon for his smarts, ones of which got him into a pretty good school here, into honors courses and those higher end ones that may get him into Harvard later in life. This was what his family wanted, and Gabe was sorta sick of doing everything that everyone else wanted, he never really looked at his own feelings. He wanted to act, acting was something that he was good at, he enjoyed being on a stage and being in front of a audience. For years his parents told him that he was too shy for things like that, even if he felt comfortable on stage. Maybe they were right though, but he was going to take his new friends advice and not give up a dream. His business major would become a side job, one of which could prove useful when people like Evan needed him. Gabe never saw himself becoming anything more than a best friend for his blonde friend here, she was too pretty to want a nerd like him. So, he rather not get his hopes up any time soon.
It was nice for Gabriel to have friends finally, though he had known Evan for a while, he just recently started getting closer to her. She agreed to let him help out with her business, which was rather easy to take care of since the small size. Arietta was not a place to become famous, but he was going to do his best to at least make her known around here. That meant showing off her clothing on models, putting her into magazines, it was going to be tough, but this was what he was going to school for. It was also nice to really help someone out, and such a sweet person like Evan too. Gabe had recently made friends with Mykayla as well, he liked both of them, both really sweet people and he enjoyed their company. He treated all of his female friends like princesses, he believed that they deserved it and it was an easy way to keep them friends with you. So, he was a bit shy, he didn't know how to speak to girls, though the two of them made a bit of a difference. He felt like he could trust Evan, tell her anything and she'd be there to listen. For some reason, Gabe attracted blondes, not that he was complaining or anything. Their non-date was coming to an end though, and he was upset that he would be leaving her side soon enough. It was a great night, and he wished it would last longer, but he knew that Evan had a busy life, probably other people to pay mind to. Truthfully, Gabe didn't know much about her life, didn't know many of her other friends, only what she had told him. He knew that someone broke her heart, and he never wanted to see the frown on her face ever again.
This whole non-date was going pretty well, from what Gabe had noticed anyway. She seemed to be comfortable, and though they were only best friends, the kisses she had been giving him were rather comforting. It was a bit awkward the first time, he hadn't been expecting it or anything from Evan, and it sorta just happened. At first he didn't know how to respond, Gabriel was awkward like that but the second time he was getting used to it. It wasn't like he hadn't kissed a girl before, that he had done maybe... three times before? He was never good at it, so he hadn't really looked into doing it more. Evan didn't seem to mind all that much, she seemed pretty content with just walking and eating ice cream right now. He slowed up when they neared her door, being caught off guard when the ice cream touched his nose. He crossed his eyes to look at the ice cream on his nose, knowing he wouldn't be able to reach it with his tongue. "I'm glad I could help, this was fun, I enjoyed our non-date." He laughed, before his face turned completely red. Her licking his nose, than just diving in for a kiss, he was confused and well... it was interesting. "Oh! Of course, that sounds good!" He was getting more and more comfortable with being around Evan, and since this was a non-date he accepted her invitation inside. It was late anyway, and he'd most likely just crash on her couch, he had done that once or twice before when going over business plans with her. He thought for a moment, and moved forward before she could move to open the door, capturing her lips in his. Daring, very daring of the boy, first kiss that he actually had gone for himself. He stepped away after a few moments and looked to the side, as if the ground was interesting. "Sorry... the lighting was making you more beautiful than you already are, if that's possible, and I had to." He said, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. At least he showed her that he could be a bit daring, just a bit.

this post is tagged for gabriel alexander morgan. it is dunzo and has nine hundred and forty five words. the one and only taylor swift contributed to this inspiration from the song white horse . this template was created by the amazing amber you steal it and there will be an angry baby who will eat your brains no joke. additional notes gevan is so awkward together! i love it! ______________________ There was always something about her now business partner that made her smile. He was so awkwardly adorable that it was completely insane. Just the way he always looked at her, and the small fact that unless she had asked him out it was probably never going to happen. She had enjoyed their dinner together, and walking with their ice cream. Gabriel Morgan was a total sweetheart, and it had been a long time since someone like him was in her life. When she had fallen in love way back in the day, well Kaler had been a totally different person than who he is now. When she was the girl on his arm, he had been sweet, kind, caring, and everything that most of the people in this town had never seen. Now they saw the callous man that was around them, someone that was completely smitten but could make mistake after mistake to ruin it. It broke her heart, because he deserved to be happy. Evan had given up on the love that they once had, and that was extremely recent. But she was happy to be walking around the town with Gabe at her side, and just eating their ice cream. She was a genius whenever it came making him feel uncomfortable, but she was more just trying to get to know him and find out who exactly he was. He was good with the business, and she was thankful but he was kind and goodhearted.
That was the whole reason she had invited him on this nondate. This was supposed to be a way for them to go out, get their minds off of everything, and really get to know everything about him. He was spending a lot of time with her about the business, but she knew that Arietta was not the place that she needed to be if she wanted to be truly successful. Honestly up until recently she had no desire to get out of Arietta, no desire to make it as a huge designer or anything like that. She had initially thrown herself into the fashion industry to get her mind off of a certain someone. She had completely devoted herself to getting her store open and functioning, and so far it had been a blast. She was in the process of getting the new spring line set up for the new season, because it always was the time to get a new idea out. The blonde had been throwing herself in work to distract herself from Kaler, again but also because of other things. She could feel those feelings that she had once felt for Kaler in Gabe, but in the same token she could feel them for Noah. If Evan had a choice she would have wanted to throw all feelings out the window. Gabe was obviously the better man who was not out to sleep with her, or anyone else. She liked him and he would always be good to her. She knew that much, but for some reason there were doubts and she was not that kind of girl. For now though, she was checking emotions for anyone but Gabe at the door as she was playful with him. A side that had not been around for a while.
It was easy to kiss him and just be cute with Gabe. He was just as innocent as she once was, which took her back to that time in her life. She was really enjoying this fact that she was back to who she once was and not thinking about all of the horrible things she had done over the past weeks, like seducing her ex-boyfriend into cheating on his girlfriend. Those were thoughts that she was pushing from her mind, and far from it as she stared at the ice cream she had cleverly put on Gabe’s nose. She watched him as he crossed his eyes trying to figure out how to get it off his nose. The blonde immediately licked it for him, because no one wastes ice cream. I enjoyed our non date too. It has been fun, but I don’t want to end it just yet.”
So she asked him in, it was not going to hurt. He had spent the night at her house often since they were talking on the business stuff. She just needed to figure out what she wanted, and then he accepted her invitation. So maybe her intentions were not completely pure with inviting him in, but she liked kissing him. She liked him and she knew that. She knew that completely, but was it something that would pull her to him as a girlfriend she was not sure. That was until his lips caught hers in a kiss that she had not been expecting. The entire night it had been Evan going in for the kisses, but she just looked at him a little stunned. It was not unwelcomed, just caught off guard. “I don’t think it is possible, but thank you. You are sweet, and I am glad that we did. I know I said that, but I am.” A smile came to her lips, as she unlocked the door and let them both in her house. Gabe knew his way around, so they were soon in the living room just sitting there with Evan curled up against his body. It was safe and she turned the television on just for the sake of having noise. “So, what do you want to do now, besides watch movies with me?”[/blockquote]
