“Okay…best two out of three,” he said, having to pause to drag in a ragged breath. Kaler had never played such a tough component in his life, and he was really kicking himself in the ass for not doing better at this. He had seriously lost his touch, and this was seriously embarrassing. After all, Kaler had used to be a total and complete jock. He had played football all throughout high school, even taking up track in the spring. Then, he had gone on to play football in college, and that was a physically and mentally taxing kind of thing that had instilled in him the habits of an athlete for life. He was still a runner, liking to go out on runs in the afternoons whenever he could find the time, but it was winter. Kaler hadn’t been able to go out because it was so damn cold outside all the time, and he was going to blame that on his total lack of preparation today as he faced this match of Wii tennis with Mykayla Trent. The little blonde looked all sweet and innocent, and really was the sweetest thing that Kaler could ever imagine meeting in his life, but damn it if she weren’t vicious with the Wii remote in her hand. Of course, the girl had always been athletic herself. Kay had played volleyball in high school, Kaler knew, and she also liked to stay active and keep herself moving. This was just not the outcome that Kaler had been expecting, getting his ass kicked by this girl, and she just simply smiled at him, knowing that he was defeated. “I’m sorry, Kaler. I would love to continue killing you at this game, but I have to go meet Kade. You know how he would be if I were late.” Yeah, yeah. Grizzly of a brother, he knew. “Okay, but don’t think this is over.”
They both just grinned, Mykayla giving him a kiss on the cheek as they said their goodbyes and she let herself out the front door. Kaler turned off the game system and plopped down onto the couch, still surprised that such a little thing like that girl could pack such a kick. And why she liked him as much as she did to call and request a Wii tennis match with him like she had, Kaler would never understand, but he had been glad to have something to do that early afternoon. Kay was always such pleasant company, never prying into his business or trying to correct his ways. She took Kaler was he was, and she really was just too precious of a girl for Kaler not to be fond of her. But, now she was gone, off somewhere to go meet Kade to do something that was probably fabulously entertaining. Kaler, on the other hand, was stuck in the house by himself. Peyton was normally around somewhere now that she was officially his ward and lived with him, but she had taken off earlier. Where she had gone, well, Kaler was sure that she had told him but talking to the young man that early in the morning before he had gotten a strong shot of caffeine in his system was pretty much useless. He thought that maybe he should be a little more concerned with the fact that he didn’t know where his sister was, but Kaler didn’t want to be overbearing; Peyton had been taking care of herself for a long time, and he really didn’t want to make it seem like he was trying to take over and be the dreaded authority figure. So, he left his cell phone where it was and instead distracted himself with some horrible daytime television.
He supposed that he could have always called Izzy and saw what she was up to. She was his girlfriend, and they usually did try to spent free time with each other. That might have been a logical thing to do, but Kaler couldn’t bring himself to pick up the phone and make that call, either. It wouldn’t have felt right, and he certainly wasn’t of the opinion that he deserved her company or that she should be subjected to his. Izzy was a great woman, one that deserved to be perfectly happy in life and who needed someone that would treat her like a fucking princess. However, she had settled for Kaler, and Kaler was a total and complete let down. She didn’t know it yet, but he had royally screwed her over, betrayed her trust, and did everything that boyfriend was not supposed to do. So no, he would not be asking for her company, because that would be just one more thing to add onto his list of horrible things that he would do this week alone. He would just sit and rot his mind on whatever the TV had to offer him, which wasn’t a whole lot. There were marathons of this or that, low budget movies and movies that he had seen a hundred times over again. The Food Network would be a bad idea, because then Kaler would be tempted to try his hand at whatever it was that they were cooking on the program, and he had already seen what was on the History channel. Animal Planet was also a bust, as was Travel. In the end he settled for a nice, easy going sitcom, a rerun that he had seen but it was whatever at that point.
Kaler hadn’t been expecting anyone else to drop by, and it must have been a hour or so after Mykayla left that he heard gravel crunching beneath tires in his driveway. Dani, Kaler’s dog that had been happily dozing at Kaler’s side jumped up to investigate, but Kaler did not. When Dani, didn’t bark, Kaler didn’t get excited. She was not sounding an alert, so Kaler knew whoever was there, and he remained where he was on the couch. It turned out that it none other than Amy Orsino coming through his door, not a bit phased by the way that Kaler didn’t answer the door or even really greet her. She let herself into his house, and was then in the living room and sitting herself down on the couch beside of him. Nothing was said for a moment, but then she asked him something about what was going on with the characters of the show that he was watching. Without really thinking about it, Kaler answer, explaining what Ross from “Friends” had gotten himself into this time. There was a small moment of silence before Kaler finally turned his head and looked at Amy. “Is there a reason you’re in my house?” he asked, feigning annoyance with the younger girl, but also curious as to what exactly she thought she was doing there.

you make it feel so epic like nothing i've felt before ,
Amy Lynn Orsino was bored. Anyone who knew the young girl knew that was never a good thing. You see, Amy Orsino had a bit of a mischievous nature. When she got bored she would get creative, and it certainly wasn’t a good thing. Over the years, Amy had done some pretty horrible things to her siblings. Of course, then they would be engaged in a pranking war that made everyone in the Trent household cautious. It was only when a prank backfired and got Rob or Marion that things were put to a stop. There had been some pretty good times involved in that too. But now most of her siblings were gone, and her mother greatly frowned on her pranking the guests who stayed at the family run bed and breakfast. Today, though, Amy was just bored enough to try something. First, though, she attempted to call someone to entertain her. She started first with her best friend, Zoey, who was always fun to have around. Zoey had things to do, though, and so Amy hung up and started moving through her contacts. She tried Hunter next, but he quickly told her he was busy and hung up the phone. She moved on to her oldest brother, Kade, next, but he and Mykayla had made plans. Jared was next, but he was with Randi. Amy sighed in disappointment at her family, who always seemed to have better things to do than hang out with her. There were several more names contained in her phone, but by the time she had moved through the rest she was no better off than when she had started. How could everyone else be busy and not her? It was then that she scrolled across Kaler Scott’s name. She thought about that one for a minute, thought about calling him, then grinned and decided against it. So maybe dropping in on Kaler Scott wasn’t the best thing to do, but she knew she could always use the excuse that she was there to see Peyton.
Amy grinned to herself, closed her phone, and hopped to her feet and headed up to her room to change her clothes. Once she ready, she grabbed the keys to her car off her desk and headed towards Kaler’s. Kaler Scott was a man with a reputation. He was the boy all the mother’s warned their daughters to stay away from because in the end all he’d do was break your heart. Not that that stopped little Amy Orsino. She had a knack for finding trouble, and so she had been extremely thrilled when Kaler Scott had rolled into town. She had only been sixteen at the time, but she had quickly made up her mind that she wanted him. Not the kind of want that meant a relationship, but in the way that Kaler enjoyed fully. Amy may have looked as sweet and innocent as her older sister, Mykayla, but she was far from. And once the youngest Trent made her mind up about something she set about getting it. And she had gotten it, too. Their little thing had been less than legal at the time, as Amy had only been sixteen and Kaler had been twenty-two, but that had definitely not stopped them. They had kept it quiet at the time, Amy only telling her closest friend, Zoey, about what was going on. Zoey was a gossip like no other, but Amy trusted the girl with her life. It was only recently that someone else had been let in on the secret, and that was her older brother Jared. That itself was a funny story, but then those concerning the middle brother usually were.
It wasn’t long before Amy was pulling in Kaler’s driveway. She turned the key in the ignition, shutting the car off. She placed the keys in her pocket before making her way to the front door. She was greeted by Dani, and Amy fussed over the dog before walking over to the couch and plopping herself down beside him. Amy didn’t find it odd that Kaler didn’t greet her just as he wouldn’t be surprised that she simply made herself at home in his place, welcomed or not. Amy had a way of making her presence greatly desired, though, and she had never had any complaints from him. There was silence between them for a moment before she asked him what was going on in the show he was watching. He answered her and Amy nodded, not really understanding but going along with it. It probably would have helped had she even known what show he was watching. Then Kaler looked over at Amy. “Is there a reason you’re in my house?” She glanced over at him, her expression betraying nothing. “Do I need a reason?” The answer to that was probably yes, but Amy was one to invite herself along places, so her just deciding to be there for no reason at all wouldn’t be anything new. She did have a reason, but she wasn’t going to get right to it just yet. That would just make her look easy. “I was bored, alright?” she said after a small paused, then looked back at the TV as if she were interested in what was going on though she had no clue what was actually happening. She was silent a moment then glanced back over at him. “What? You got something better to do than hang out with little old me?” Considering he was sitting here watching TV she seriously doubted it. Besides, whatever he might possibly have planned she was sure she could be a lot more fun. Most definitely.

He really couldn't imagine that there was a really, really good reason for the younger girl to just drop by his house. Amy Orsino wasn't the kind of girl that particularly needed reason for anything that she did though. Kaler had had the pleasure of knowing her for a little over two years now, and from the very start he had known that she was one of those girls that just did things without always having to think it through or have a solid, valid reason for it. She stood out in that way, and that probably had a lot to do with why Kaler Scott had been drawn to her when he had first moved here. He had been taken in by the Trents, Jared in particular, as something like an extra brother. Of course Kaler had been introduced to the whole family, and there had been sixteen-year-old Amy, all cute and vivacious, looking at him in a way that he had seen many girls look at him before but knowing that he should probably really resist on this one. Not only was she Jared's kid sister and completely off limits by rule of the bro code, but she was also legally a minor, making anything that they would do highly illegal in most states, Maine being one of them. Kaler had tried to be good, tried to keep his distance, even mocked her and tried to shut her down so that she would dislike him rather than want him, because he knew she wanted him. It was all wasted effort, though, as the more Kaler tried, the more she tried too and he just wasn't that good or strong of a man in the end. And it wasn't like she had had a better reason for doing what they had done than she had simply just wanted to do it. Why would Kaler expect that to change at all?
He shouldn't have, and Amy was probably dropping by because she didn't have anything better to do with her life today other than come over here just to annoy the piss out of him. It was random, because he couldn't remember the last that he had actually talked to the girl and had a conversation of any real substance, but he supposed that that really didn't matter, either. No part of their odd friendship had ever really been about the words that passed between them, anyway, and they were the type of people that didn't really need conversation to feel comfortable. He was still curious, though, and that was why he had had to ask if there was any reason why she was there in his house, making herself at home like she owned the place. There was always that off chance that she did actually have a good reason, or needed something or someone had sent her over here looking for something that they needed. "Do I need a reason?" Providing one might be nice, Kaler arched an eyebrow her way suggesting as much. "I was bored, alright?" Kaler smirked at her as they both turned their attention back to the TV. Kaler had missed something that had been said, but it undivided attention wasn't really necessary for a show like Friends. Someone that had never seen it before could sit down, watch it for five minutes and know mostly everything that they needed to know about it. That was the beauty of a well written sitcom. Kaler was fully prepared to sit there and just watch this show with Amy, but he should have known that the silence wouldn't last with her around. "What? You got something better to do than hang out with little old me?"
Kaler pretended to think about that one, and then sighed before looking back over at Amy. "Sadly, no, I don't. Your sister was over here earlier and shamed me good at Wii tennis. That was the most I had on my agenda for today." And he had been perfectly content with the idea of falling asleep right there on the couch, but now that was going to be impossible. There was no way that he would be able to fall asleep with Amy sitting there, plotting out what she was going to do to him while he slept. She was just a little demon that way. A loveable kind of demon, but a demon just the same. "But, if I can come up with something better to do, does that mean you'll go away?" Kaler didn't know what it was about this girl that brought out this picky, playful side in him but it always happened whenever Amy was around. He smirked as he had said it, knowing that Amy wasn't going to just take that. She was a feisty little thing, another good quality in a young girl, and they were just naturally this way around each other. Maybe it was because in a lot of ways, they were extremely similar. Or, maybe it was because of the kind of sex filled relationship they had shared in the past that they were like this. Whatever it was, it had lasted throughout the years and didn't seem to be fading out anytime soon. "I mean, don't you have brothers to torment or something?" Knowing Kade, Jared, and Hunter, they had all found better things to do today, or had come up with some good excuse not to be subjected to all that was Amy. Kaler hadn't even had a chance to come up with something, seeing as she had just shown up without a good reason for it. He knew that he was stuck with her, and he was only just teasing her now and Amy would realize that. Whatever they got into while she was here, he was sure that it was going to be interesting.

you make it feel so epic like nothing i've felt before ,
Amy was different than most girls her age. She was crazy and insane and she had a mischievous streak longer than most little boys. She was a prankster and a liar, and saw rules more as guidelines than things that needed to be followed. She had entirely too much energy that only increased when she got a couple cups of coffee in her. After that she was almost unbearable to be around. She was always doing things she probably shouldn’t, and she didn’t really learn her lessons after playing with fire. Kaler Scott was just one of those things that Amy shouldn’t have done, and more so that she shouldn’t have done over and over again. He was very bad for her, but the young girl didn’t care at all. Actually, the fact that she should stay far away from him was probably the reason why she wanted him in the first place. Amy had always been the type to want what she couldn’t, or shouldn’t, have, and not much about that had changed over the years. So here Amy found herself, sitting on Kaler’s couch, being coy and pretending there wasn’t something that she wanted. Amy had been called a tease many times in her short life, and it was very well true. She flirted without even thinking about it, sometimes not even noticing that that was what she was doing. She would drive the boys her age, and even older, wild, thinking they could have her before she denied them and moved on. She enjoyed keeping things interesting. There was nothing wrong with leading someone on, and there was certainly nothing wrong in playing hard to get. However, Amy knew that when it came to Kaler, she wasn’t going to have to try hard at all to get him. Not as hard as the first time, anyway. Of course he had had plenty of reasons for doing so then. Now, however, she was completely legal, and there was nothing wrong with this now.
Though apparently she should give more thought to the fact that he had a girlfriend. Honestly, though, Amy didn’t really care. It would have been different had that girlfriend been a friend of hers or someone she genuinely cared about. As it was, Amy didn’t really know the girl, and she could have cared less that she was dating Kaler Scott. She meant nothing to Amy. Maybe that was twisted, but Amy was the type to always go after what she wanted, and she usually got it. Right now she wanted Kaler, and that was exactly what she was going to get. "Sadly, no, I don't. Your sister was over here earlier and shamed me good at Wii tennis. That was the most I had on my agenda for today." Amy laughed, loving the idea of little old Mykayla beating Kaler at Wii tennis. It was pretty funny. Amy knew that Mykayla was very good at that, though, and had watched her sister give their brothers a run for their money on many occasions. Amy couldn’t even beat Mykayla, and she had learned long ago not to engage her at it. Apparently Kaler hadn’t. "But, if I can come up with something better to do, does that mean you'll go away?" Amy grinned, knowing very well that Kaler didn’t want her to go away. She made his life fun, so why would he. “No,” she said simply, a grin on her face. "I mean, don't you have brothers to torment or something?" Amy laughed. “Yes, however, they’ve all made plans without me.” She smiled sweetly over at him. “Besides, it’s so much more fun to torment you!” Though tormenting wasn’t exactly what she had in mind.
Amy did have to say that she enjoyed this teasing and picky side of Kaler Scott. It was very entertaining, and she loved that he could almost keep up with her. She turned her body to face him a little more now, ignoring the TV entirely and focusing all her attention on him. “So what have you been up to lately, Kaler. You know, besides having my older sister school your ass in Wii tennis?” She grinned sweetly, looking entirely more innocent than they both knew she was. “I heard a bit of a rumor, something about you and three other girls,” and of course now she was getting to the whole point of why she was here. She grinned wickedly. “Care to make it four?”

The understanding that existed between Kaler and Amy was a funny little thing. They both knew how their friendship had started out, both knew what was behind them and well into their respective pasts by now. Kaler knew what she was, and she knew what he was as well, both have certain tendencies about them that made them an unlikely pair when it had come right down to it, but something between them had always managed to work itself out. It wasn't only in just their physical attractions for each other, either, but in the way that they were able to interact in general. Kaler had quit tolerating high school girls during his sophomore year in college, not finding their clingyness attractive in the slightest. They were too emotional, too caught up in a world of teenage drama for Kaler's liking and they just hadn't been with the time, not when there were unstable and drunken college girls to take advantage of. But then there had been Amy, this sixteen-year-old that had managed to turn him dark side once again. There was just this certain allure about her, something that Amy possessed that Kaler knew was probably crushing those high school boys that didn't have a clue what they were doing left and right.
However, their understanding was that of purely friendship, now, and had been for awhile. At least, that was the impression that Kaler was under. He couldn't say that he was going to really mind having Amy around for an afternoon, either. Kaler had no idea why she thought that he was going to be any more entertaining than any of her other friends, but it was okay. They could hang out and see what happened. That sweet smile did nothing to put his mind at ease, though. Amy was always like that little devil in disguise, one never really knowing what exactly she was going to turn around and do next. "“So what have you been up to lately, Kaler. You know, besides having my older sister school your ass in Wii tennis?” Kaler turned his head so that he was looking at her again, noticing how she had changed her position and yet another sweet grin on her lips that was much to innocent to be seen on a girl like her. Then she mentioned some kind of rumor that she had heard, and Kaler went still for a moment. Now just where in the fuck had she heard this? Kaler Scott was a master at sneaking around, and if Amy had heard it, that meant that one of his little bitches on the side wasn't keeping their mouth shut about it. This temporarily unsettled him, until he heard Amy's next sentence. "Care to make it four?" The now wicket little girn that she wore on her lips let him know that she wasn't toying around; that was the same way that she had always looked at him before. And he had thought that this part of them had been left well behind....
He groaned in frustration, laying his head back against the couch and closing his eyes for a moment. This was just ridiculous. Then he picked himself back up again, blue eyes going to her with that familiar gleam. "Why, Amy?" Then a grin came to his lips as he turned his body toward hers and moved toward her. He was crawling in over top of her, giving her room to swing her own body around and come to lay on the couch beneath him as he still grinned down at her. "Why do you girls insist on making it so damn difficult for me to be a good person, hm? Because really, it seemed that the moment that he had gotten together with Izzy, all that he had had was woman after woman propositioning him for sex. Evan, Britt, Hadley.... Now Amy and Kaler was sure that he would find some other way to run himself even further into the ground. But, as his lips met Amy's and he felt that old fire between them suddenly ignite again, he really didn't give a damn. All that mattered was getting her skin against his own and doing what they did best.
