Miranda James was becoming so very excited and terrified at the same time. Everything for her dream wedding was falling into place, and the small fact that her dreams were coming into place faster than she ever dreamed it could. Her wedding was going to be amazing, and it had nothing to do with the preparations or the dress; it had to do with the fact that she was finally going to spend her life with the one person that she had loved forever. Ever since she had laid eyes on her now fiancee way back in high school, she knew that he was the one. She knew that for the rest of her life she would be content being Mrs. Miranda Trent, but there was still last minute preparations that needed to do which is why they were sitting in Vidette Garland’s bake shop. It was the best places to go for cake and sweets, and since she needed a wedding cake fast Vidette had been recommended. It also did not hurt her that her boyfriend was in the wedding party.
Randi stood there talking about everything that she had wanted for the wedding with Vidette, because it was a winter wedding. She wanted snowflakes and the whole winter feel for the cake. Randi had a beautiful dress that had silver throughout and it was just a whole wonderful thing. Talking to Vidette about everything that she wanted about this cake was something she had not experienced before. Randi had planned everything in her head, but to tell Vidette about it was hard to put into words. Then of course there was her fiance that was looking through cookbooks and acting like a kid in a candy store. It was exactly as Mykayla had predicted, now what she was waiting for was Jared to come out with something just totally off the wall. The irony would be if there really was a way to make gummy bear cake and that Jared found it. She stood there, and then decided to look over her shoulder at Jared. He could always make her smile, and there he was making her smile again with a huge grin on his face. “What is the matter with you boyfriend? What did you find that has you grinning from ear to ear?”
She knew that there was going to be taste testing, but she knew that Jared had stumbled upon something wonderful and figured it was best to have him tell her now. _________________ tagged for : jared // mercy <333[/blockquote]

It was amazing at how fast things were moving now. Ever since Jared and Randi had built that blessed igloo together, everything seemed to be moving at warp speed. Randi had only been officially his girlfriend for about two weeks before he had gotten down on one knee on the bar they happened to have been dancing on and asked that girl to marry him. Now they were engaged, and it was going to be a very short engagement as well. Normally, people would talk and whispers would be spread about just how fast all of this seemed to be going, and that there really could only be one reason that the couple would rush into something like this. However, this was not a shotgun wedding, and Randi was not by any means pregnant. And, if there were people that were saying those kind of things, they were delusional. Everyone knew that Jared Trent and Miranda James were a couple that were meant to be from the start. Everyone had already just assumed that they were together, and hardly anyone was surprised to hear that they were planning for this winter wedding with the date already set and everything. Jared himself was a very happy little camper, always ready to jump in and help whenever his bride-to-be needed him. Location had been ea sy, decorations also mostly easily done. Randi had picked out what she called the perfect dress, and her wedding party was also ready to go. Now they just needed a few small things, and today they were tackling the biggest of the small things that were left to handle: the cake.
Apparently, this was something very important, but Jared didn't personally see the point in putting so much thought into something that they were just going to smash into each others' faces and eat, anyway. However, he wanted his Randi have the perfect wedding, therefore he was there to help her with picking out the perfect cake. They had gone into town to visit Vidette at her bakery, and she seemed excited to be making their cake. Jared let the girls talk about the look of the cake, letting Randi talk about the color and the theme and all that because that was her department. Jared had seen some of Viddy's work and knew that she could pull it off, and was glad the two were designing this cake together. However, he was interested in what flavor this cake would be, and picked up a book that Viddy had laid out, flipping through the pages and seeing different recipes. Some of them sounded absolutely amazing, with names like butter cream, marble marvel, and just so many more that all sounded like heaven to the taste buds. But then Jared turned a page and his face lit up, like the clouds above had parted and God was shining a light down on him. This. Was. It. Jared turned and flew to Randi's side where she was still talking to Vidette, and it took everthing for him not to reach out and tug on her sleeve like he used to do with his mother when he was overly excited about something but knew better than to interrupt grown up conversation. He was biting on his lip, bouncing on his toes, patiently waiting for his turn. She did turn to him finally and asked him what he had found. He turned the book around so that she could see it. "Look at it. IT'S AMAZING!" A gummy bear flavored cake. How could you top that, seriously?!

Ever since she could remember she had known that Jared Trent was the only person who she wanted to be with. He was amazing and could still manage to put up with her and her insane antics even after six years of being completely inseparable. Never had they not been attached at the hip, since her arrival in Arietta, and now he was giving her everything that she ever wanted. Randi was going to get her fairytale wedding, and he had been wonderful enough to help her plan whatever he could. He was there whenever she needed his help with anything. They had picked the location with ease, considering it was a winter wonderland wedding. Everything was falling into place so nicely that she could not believe that this had happened so fast. The funniest part was that it all started just a few weeks ago in an igloo whenever emotions were finally let go. It was nice to know that she was not the only one who had these kinds of feelings, and then two weeks later he was down on one knee ringing in the new year with her. This was just how it was supposed to be, her grandmother and the Trent’s had not expected anything less than whenever Randi had told them the date. It was going to be soon, and this whole fairytale would wrap up with her in his arms forever.
Randi knew that Jared saw no point in her putting so much effort into a cake, but it was what she wanted. Whenever the guest walked into the reception, the cake was the first thing they were going to see. It needed to tie everything about the wedding together, which was the the details that she was going over with Vidette. She knew that Viddy had enough practice, and was completely wonderful that their cake was going to be perfect and well worth the smashing that was going to ensue. She had been talking to Vidette about particulars whenever she could feel Jared against her skin like a magnet. She wanted to feel him against her, and then she noticed that he was bouncing on his tiptoes with sheer giddy joy. It had propted her question and she stared at him trying to figure out what was so damn exciting. Then she looked at the papers that he was holding in his hands. and just like Mykayla had predicted, gummy bear cake. Never in a million years had Miranda expected to find there was an actual recipe for gummy bear cake, but low and behold it was in Vidette Garland’s bake shop that he would find it. A smile tugged at her lips before she spoke to her fiance with brightness. “That is absolutely amazing! No one would ever expect such an elegant cake to be baked in gummy bear cake. Jared, you are never going to believe this, but Kay totally called this.”
she laughed lightly whenever she admitted that Kay had said that if it existed Jared would find it. She was correct. “Jared, is that what you want? Do you even want to taste some other cakes? Or are you dead set on gummy bear cake?” she wanted him to be just as happy with this cake as she was, and if he wanted gummy bear cake then that was what they were going to have. _________________ [/blockquote]

Jared was a bit of a candy and cake fanatic. He could eat his weight in Twizzlers and he was the guy that was always smuggling candy into the movie theater rather than pay their insanely high prices. It was amazing that the boy had good teeth because he had always had that crazy sweet tooth of his, especially as a child who was cunning and conniving enough to be able to sneak to bed with a whole bag of cookies. It was just a good thing that he had been blessed with a high activity metabolism and the ability to eat anything that was set in front of him without gaining a single pound from it. Otherwise, the kid would be in some serious trouble. He had easily been excited for this part of planning his and Randi's wedding, just because he was going to get to taste all kinds of heavenly tasting cakes from Vidette's shop. He would be leaving the final decision for what kind of cake they got up to Randi, of course, as this was her baby, her special day and he didn't want to take away any part of that for her. But, now he had found the ultimate cake, and it was going to be hard to forget how amazing a gummy bear cake sounded as he was trying out everything else that Viddy had for them. However, Randi seemed just as amazed with this gummy bear cake as he had been, the grin permanent on his lips as her eyes saw for themselves what he had found to be so amazing.
No, he didn't believe that anyone would ever expect a wedding cake that would look so gorgeous and amazing on the outside to have such a colorful and tasteful inside, but that would absolutely be the beauty of such a thing! At least, in Jared's mind it was. He looked up from the page at Randi as she said that Mykayla had totally called this one, and that didn't really surprise Jared. Kay knew each of her brothers like the back of her hand, always knowing what to expect from each of them at any given time for any situation. It seemed that she knew Jared a little too well, though, but that was okay. Everyone should have expected something this epic out of him, though. Hello, he was in a cake shop, and in the bakery world the possibilities were almost endless. When she asked if that was the cake that he wanted, the grin faded a bit from his lips, real thought taking place now as he looked down at the book in his hands, which was upside down to him seeing as he had turned it around for Randi to look at. "We don't have to have a gummy bear cake," he said part of him really wanting it but at the same time, he wouldn't ruin Randi's perfect wedding cake. "It would be cool as hell, and so awesome, but I want you to have what you want. I can make my own damn gummy bear cake anytime." Especially now that he knew such a thing actually existed!

The brunette was giddy with excitement as she realized what was going on. This was one of the absolute final details in their wedding planning. It was also a very minute detail, but it was something that she knew Jared had been looking forward to since the beginning. Jared was a little kid when it came to candy, and she knew that. She understood that he was always going to have a sweet tooth and there was absolutely nothing she was going to do to change it. Jared had been able to sneak entire bags of cookies, twizzlers, and the like from the bed and breakfast all the way up to her Grandmother’s home and up the ladder/ He had amazed her as a teenager, and he still did even to this day. Never in her life had she found a man that could have this large of a sweet tooth for this long. Now Randi was the kind of girl to have a fascination with chocolate. Anything chocolate and you had the brunette in the palm of your hand, but gummy bears and worms would always have a special place in her heart.
So as she looked over at her loving fiance, she knew that he had his heart set on gummy bear cake. It was nothing new to her, because of the fact that his sweet tooth would obviously carry over to his cake picking skills. She adored him to pieces and she loved the fact that he wanted her to have everything her way. Everyone had been amazing with her planning, even from Kade who had agreed to be the one to walk her down the aisle. What he did not quite understand was that he would be sharing in a very special dance with her at the reception as well. She saw the smile slightly slip from his lips, and it made her start to frown slightly. Randi had asked Jared what he wanted for the cake, because as much as it was her special day, it was his too. She wanted him to have his own little touches at it, and a gummy bear cake was something that Jared would always adore. Especially if that said cake was going to be smashed into his face after they said I do. She started to pout whenever he started speaking, but she listened carefully. “Jared, we can have whatever cake your heart desires. I asked you for a reason.”
But her smile was quickly tugged back to her lips whenever he said he could make gummy bear cake whenever he damn well pleased. It was incredibly cute, but she wanted this wedding to be theirs. “A gummy bear cake would be exactly what everyone would expect from us. As for what I want, boyfriend...I want you to pick the cake. You get to have a say in this too you know, and just so you know I love you for letting me have things the way I want them. But you deserve to have some fun.” She smiled at him and nodded her head so that he knew if he wanted it to tell Vidette and that is what they would have. _________________ [/blockquote]

It just didn't seem right that such a cake existed and Jared hadn't been aware of it until just now. How in the world had he gone his entire life without knowing that one of his favorite gummy candies of all time could be baked into a cake, thus elevating it to a whole new level of deliciousness? It just didn't seem right, but now that Jared knew a cake like this could be made, he was going to have to have it. He didn't expect Randi to let him have it as their wedding cake, of course, but Jared could steal the recipe from Vidette, or puppy dog eye her into making one for him, and he would have his cake then! It would be amazing no matter when he had it, even though he had to admit that making a wedding cake turn out to be a gummy bear flavored cake would be exactly his own kind of style. He had to wonder how something like that might taste, just because of all the flavors of the bears running together into a gooey combination in the batter, but he couldn't imagine how something like that would taste bad. There was just no way. However, he had to stop daydreaming about a cake and get his head back in the game so that he and Randi could pick out a cake for real. "Jared we can have whatever cake your heart desires. I asked you for a reason." He looked back up at her when she said this, one eyebrow raising slowly. She would seriously let him have a gummy bear cake?
As Randi said her next bit, Jared could feel that girn coming back to his lips. He was, without a doubt, marrying the most perfect woman for him on the planet. No one else would ever understand him, would ever know exactly what he wanted even when he wasn't saying it, the way that Randi could. She had probably realized from the moment that he had approached her that he had found the cake that he wanted. Most woman would have just pretended to consider their fiance's choice, though, and then went ahead and picked the one that they wanted instead but not Randi. She was letting him pick the cake, and that just seemed like the most amazing thing ever right now as he stood there with the gummy bear cake recipe in his hands. He knew he had to look like a little kid that had just gotten the thing at the top of their list on Christmas morning, but he didn't care. He looked over at Vidette, who seemed amused. "Viddy, this cake needs to be gummy bear on the inside, but all pretty and the like how Randi wants it on the outside." That was going to be a twist for sure, but Jared loved it. He then turned his gaze back on Randi. "Have I told you how much I loved you today? Because if I did, I was wrong before because I love you much more now." He leaned in and snuck a kiss, so happy to have her, and so damn excited about this cake that he really did feel a little bit like a five year old.

If there was one thing in the entire world that Miranda knew better than herself it was Jared. She knew every little thing about him, from his favorite sweets to the way he gets giddy whenever he gets something that he truly wanted. He was like a little child that was opening his gifts on Christmas morning, and that was the side of her fiance that she loved more than anything. She loved to watch his eyes light up with excitement, and to just see him full of such joy. Her own eyes had been lit up like his were in this exact moment for weeks as she planned the most special day that the two of them would share together. Miranda James had been waiting to actually plan this wedding since she could remember, and now she was planning a wonderful cake that suited not only her fiance’s attitude, but her own as well. Both of them were like little children, and whenever they were giddy with excitement it showed to every single person that was around the two of them. This wedding had been years in the making, and she was so happy that they were going to have such an elegant cake, with fruity filled goodiness inside.
Randi listened to him tell Vidette everything that he wanted with the cake. It was wonderful that they were going to have that magical cake. It was a little bit of Jared and a little bit of Randi. It was their two lives melding into one incredible thing, just like this wedding was going to be. It was them vowing to never stray from each other and to be there through thick and thin. She was always going to support Jared, and he was always going to be there for her as she finished the next two years of college. Now she was probably going to continue on for her Master’s but that was something to discuss later. She laughed as she listened to him say everything that was going on with the cake; she saw Vidette look at her like he was insane, but Randi nodded. “It’s alright Vidette, do what he said. Believe it fits us.”
She laughed lightly, and then her hazel eyes locked with his light eyes. She knew that he was going to be all cutsey, and sure enough there he was. Of course she loved him, and of course he told her a million times a day how much he loved her. “Why I do believe that you tell me all the time, but today not as much as usual. But I am so glad that you do love me, because I love you much more. I mean we are having a gummy bear cake for pete’s sake.” She giggled, but then his lips caught her own, and the butterflies in her stomach came back. She was so happy that this was happening, and that she was going to spend the rest of her life with her best friend and soul mate. This was where her life was meant to be. _________________ [/blockquote]
