There was no telling on how many levels that this was wrong. Kaler Scott was not a stranger to stooping to new lows when it came to women and getting what he wanted, but this? This somehow seemed worse than all of the other stupid shit he had done in his life combined. Although there were women that would object, Kaler was under the firm belief that he had never once cheated on any of the many that he had seen. He had never once said to any of those women that they were in an exclusive relationship, and that they were the only one that he would be dating and sleeping with. He might not have told them that they weren't in an exclusive relationship, and hell, Kaler might have led them to believe that that was exactly what they were doing, but he always had that one thing to fall back on. He never called them his girlfriend, and he never said anything that would trap him one way or another. He was a master at the player's game, after all, and the women just seemed to assume things about him that turned out to be entirely false when they realized that he had failed to stay faithful in a relationship he didn't even believe existed. He supposed it was merely a matter of perspective and how a person chose to look at it, but Kaler thought that he had always managed to be smart, clever, and manipulative to the point that no one would be able to point the cheater finger at him. Sure, there was no escaping the fact that he was a manwhore, with awful tendencies and a conniving mind, but there had been at least one good thing going for him in his mind. Up until now, that is.
He didn't know why he couldn't say no, and he didn't know why he hadn't had more willpower than this. Kaler was carefully navigating his black Chevy Camaro along Arietta's less that perfectly maintained roads, down a familiar track to on Evan Matthews' house. Kaler knew the way well, as he had lived there for a few months two years ago when he had first moved to this small coastal town. He had traveled the road since then, of course, coming to visit his friend on a few occasions, but this was something so entirely different. He was going there with one thing in mind, and she was surely waiting there for him with the same thing on hers, both of them knowing what they wanted and knowing that they were going to get it. He could have stopped at any point and turned the car around. Hell, he could have not even gotten in the car; he could have just stayed at his house and found something to occupy his mind with other than his ex-girlfriend and this offer that she had made him. But, Kaler hadn't been able to turn her down, hadn't found the strength or decency in him to say no when he had all the reason in the world to. Isobel Caulfield was Kaler's first girlfriend since Evan, the first woman that he had ever allowed himself to be attached to in that way with and stick a label on what they had. More than that, she was Kaler's best friend, a woman that knew exactly who he was and what he had done in life and yet still found it in her to like him anyway. Izzy was such a terrific girl, the kind of girl that Kaler knew any guy would be lucky to have in his life yet he felt that no one man could ever truly deserve her and her greatness. But there he was, Izzy as his girlfriend and he was driving to his ex-girlfriend's house knowing that he was about to cheat on her and betray ever ounce of trust she had in him.
But she would never have to know, he thought. What Izzy didn't know surely couldn't hurt her. Kaler tried and tried those thoughts in his mind, tried to make them work like they had for every other woman that he had screwed over. The relationship was never going to last; that he had known from the moment that they had agreed to try this. Kaler wasn't exactly unhappy in his relationship, it was just the fact that it wasn't the relationship that he wanted, wasn't the one that was going to put a stop to him and his ways. Maybe that could justify this somewhat, maybe no one else would be able to make sense of it other than Kaler himself, but none of it seemed to matter all that much as he found himself at Evan's driveway already, turning the camaro and parking it behind Evan's vehicle. After killing the engine, Kaler sat there for only a moment, blue eyes on the front door of the house. He could have that redeeming moment, right now. He could be a better man and walk away, go find Izzy and have his way with her as he knew she would never turn him down from something like that. To think that he was here now at Evan's because Izzy wasn't enough for him was laughable because that raven haired beauty was almost more than enough for any man. There were no good reasons as to why Kaler was here, but at the same time a small grin had to come to play on his lips as he thought of the many good reasons as to why he was. There was just something about Evan that he hadn't been able to turn away from, and it was their shared past that made it so much more difficult than it really should have been. Kaler knew that he could have a redeeming moment right here, but he just shook his head at himself as he opened the car door and steeped out into the cool Arietta weather. Like there had ever been a redeeming quality about him.
Kaler walked up to the front door, but instead of knocking he simply let himself in. After having lived there like he had, Kaler had learned to just make himself at home whenever he came by. He didn't figure that this time would be any exception, and he simply kicked his shoes off by the door after closing it behind him. Then he shrugged his coat off of his broad shoulders, hanging it up on the hooks that were there on the wall. Kaler turned around in time to see Evan walk in, her tiny frame covered only in what she had told him that she would be wearing which was one of his old t-shirts he had gotten from the boarding school they had both attended. It had always been a couple sizes too big for her, but she had stolen it from him ages ago and now wore it like an extremely short dress, a seductive smirk on her lips. Kaler had tried to stay away, tried to be good and not let her tempt him, but now all those thought were gone from the young man's head as he stepped nearer to her, blue eyes wondering down her body. "That's cute and all, but the t-shirt is going to have to go," was the first and only thing that he said to her before his hands were at her sides, lips crushing against hers fueled by an intense lust. Kaler didn't waste time in pulling that shirt off over her head, wanting to feel her skin beneath his fingers. That wouldn't be enough, though, and his own clothes were hastily removed. Kaler pushed her up against the nearest wall, hands and lips greedy as the moved over her body that was still familiar to him even after all that time had passed since they had last had sex together. He could remember where she liked his lips, and just how to tease her and drive her crazy. Kaler just hoped that she was ready to get exactly what she had asked for.

There were few things in her life that Evan could possibly say that she was ashamed of, or even questioned why she did what she did. This happened to be one of them, because whenever she started talking to Kaler Scott that afternoon she had never dreamed that she would be waiting for him to come over. Never had she dreamed that the boy would be forsaking the value of a relationship, but he was doing it for her. She had never meant to seduce him, but this was Evan and Kaler that they were talking about. The two of them had shared history. Kaler had stolen every piece of Evan Matthew’s heart way back in the day. He had been her high school sweetheart, and her sophomore and junior year had been nothing but a whirlwind of emotion, disaster, and then eventually heart break. She had learned that she had loved and lost as soon as the man had walked out of her life. She had lost not only him, but their baby as well. She had never dreamed that she would have fallen head over heels in love with him. So maybe she still was not totally over the man, but that was how things went.
Maybe that was why she still wore around his old ratty football shirt. It also happened to be the reason that she had managed to get the boy over to her home that afternoon. She had corrupted him and told him that she had nothing on underneath his t-shirt, and she knew that he was not going to be able to resist her. Something about the two of them caused this to happen. Sure they had been broken up, and yes Evan hated it. She hated that he had stayed in her house, stirred up all kinds of old feelings, and today decides to tell her that he had a girlfriend. A girlfriend who obviously was nothing like what he needed, or someone that could keep him standing still for even a moment. She had been that girl for him once, and maybe she was being stupid for even hoping that one day the boy would open up those gorgeous blue eyes of his and see her still there. She had never wanted to break up with him, but she was hardly the girl she had been whenever they first fell in love with the loss of their little boy. Her miscarriage had ruined her for over a year, but then she moved back home to Arietta and things had changed back to normal. The blonde girl had reverted back to her bubbly sweetheart personality rather than the dismal, depressed girl she had been her senior year.
Evan had let the man into her home and welcomed him back into her life with open arms, but that was the good girl in her nature. She was the girl that kept her head up and hoped for the best, including for Kaler to realize that above all else she was the girl that loved him and wanted to be with him. Evan had always loved him and that was never going to change. He would always have a special place in her heart, seeing as how he was her baby daddy, but that was besides the point. Tonight was all about getting what she wanted, and she had learned how to play Kaler like a violin. He always liked when she brought up his old t-shirt, it had served its purpose even back in high school whenever she had initially stolen it. If she wanted Kaler Scott in her bed, well all she had to do was put on that shirt with nothing between her skin and the smell of her old flame. As she sat in front of the computer she realized that she was the other woman, and part of her was reconsidering. She hated to do that to a girl that did not really deserve it. If it was Evan wearing the other shoes, she would be furious. It was doubtful that Evan would have ever forgiven Kaler if he had cheated on her, but that was the gloriousness of her. She had learned from the absolute best, how to have a callous opinion of the situation. She really could care less right now, because she wanted Kaler. It really did not matter that it was Kaler, but it was what she knew and was comfortable. She hated the idea of one night stands, but this was different. This was Kaler, and that was when she heard the black Camaro enter her driveway. She would recognize that car anywhere, and it was obvious that she was excited. Her face lit up and she was ready to see him ready for this. It had been long enough, and then she heard the door open.
As her door creaked open, she slowly stood from her place in the living room with her laptop on the coffee table. She knew that Kaler would let himself in and get himself stripped of his coat and his shoes. It was his routine, and that was when the blonde let her presence be seen. She had stood up and took the few steps to where he was standing and leaned against the door frame. Her blonde hair was hanging loosely around her shoulders, and Kaler’s shirt always looked like it was drowning her. Evan was an extremely petite girl, and it was always funny to have her standing next to Kaler. She watched as he turned around to face her, and she let a seductive smile grace her lips. She knew that he would show up and that he would be excited to see her. Evan felt his eyes roam all around her body as he was really contemplating if this was what he wanted. Then the words came from his lips, and her eyes danced wildly with excitement. “Then take it off.”
and those where the only words that escaped her lips before his hands were on her and his lips were crushed against hers. This was lusty and something that hardly had happened between them; in the past it had always been a love fueled thing, not the lust that fueled them now. She felt his t-shirt being ripped up over her head, and soon her fingers were finding their way to his own clothing. She could feel his fingers against her skin, and it was like electricity that sparked against her pale skin. This was something that the blonde had missed, and was glad to have this moment as she ripped his clothing away from him. Everything about Kaler was still engraved in her brain, she knew how to kiss his neck and ears to make him completely mad with passion. He was driving her crazy as he let his fingers and lips caress her skin. She was against a wall and he knew that she loved whenever he took this kind of control. Evan let out a soft whisper as his lips met her neck. “God, Kaler.... stop teasing me.” She let out a soft chuckle and waited to see what the man was going to do to her. It was an interesting dynamic, and all she wanted was to get what she had asked for. She knew that he wanted it too, but something told her that Kaler was not done taunting and teasing her yet. He was really going to make her work for this. She let her fingers roam against back, and soon he would realize just how he got those little scars in his back. Kaler couldn't help but to grin as his lips grazed over Evan's soft, pale skin. This was what horrible, tactless men did. This was a move so typical and yet so feared by the general female population when it came to men and relationships. Cheating broke hearts, tore apart families, and ruined people forever when it came to love. It was something so easy to do, but in doing it a person could be throwing away everything just for the sake of a couple good lays and the thrill of having their very own dirty little secret. Kaler didn't have a lot of room to talk, as he was not a prime example of anything relationship related, but he had never had a lot of respect for men that would cheat on their wives, or his guy friends in college that would openly brag about cheating on their girlfriends. At least what he did was a little different; at least he hadn't promised someone his loyalty and his love only to turn around and stab them in the back with it. Sure, there were women in his past that would have to disagree, but in Kaler's mind he had never done anything so wrong as to technically cheat on them. Cheating was a whole new level of low, the very idea of which had never really sat right with Kaler. It was his thought that if you liked someone enough to try your hand at a relationship, or even loved them enough to marry them, then you owed that person so much more than this. Break up with them or file for a divorce. Don't let them continue to think that they have all of you only for them to be crushed in the end. Kaler did have enough heart to feel that way, despite what others may have thought. However, he was going against all of that right now as he stood there butt naked, his body pressed up against Evan's. Kaler had finally become that guy he hadn't thought he ever would be, and he knew that he deserved every hit that he took after this if anyone were to find out.
But, then again, Kaler had a knack for sneaking around and he was sure that Evan would know that her pretty little lips were to stay perfectly sealed around this one. She knew what he was risking in coming over here, as she was well aware of the fact that he had a girlfriend. Izzy was really the furthest thing from his mind at this point, having left all of those thoughts at the door and he became totally focused on Evan. Kaler could still remember that sweet, young girl that had somehow managed to catch his attention at boarding school. He had never understood, because his usual type was a dark haired girl with dark eyes, and Evan was the complete opposite of that, but she had been able to draw him in anyway. Kaler could remember the way that she had been able to make him feel, and remembered thinking that that had had to have been love. He had cared so strongly for this girl, and even when she had come to him and told him that she was pregnant when they were both so young and ill prepared for such a change, he had felt those feelings for her grow even stronger. Kaler had made up his mind quickly that he wouldn't leave her, that he would stay and help her with their child and hopefully one day make a decent family out of them and marry this girl. That pretty picture had all come crashing down around him, though, when Evan had had the misfortune of a miscarriage, and it seemed that after that that the two of them were not going to survive a relationship together. That seemed like a different lifetime entirely, but there were certainly feelings left over from a time when the two of them had been very different themselves. Kaler knew that was what had fueled the brief fling that had shared when he had first moved to this town and lived in this home together, and it was what brought them here two years later and made this connection feel much stronger than just some random one night stand. It's what made it so irresistible, so easy and fluid.
Just as Kaler remembered things about Evan, she seemed to remember things about him that gave her advantage points as they worked each other over. She remembered how to kiss at his ears and neck, how for some reason he was a sucker for that sensitive area and just the small, little touches that could drive the young man crazy. Things were moving along quite nicely, Kaler taking the time to taunt this girl good and proper after she had done her part and tempting him and making him feel as though there were really no other option in the world than to come over here. "God Kaler...stop teasing me." Right, like he was going to just because she said so. He chuckled too, his full of mischief as one hand came to caress her breast, his lips pressing against hers once again as suppressed moans filled the otherwise quiet air. Kaler could feel his own wants and needs overcoming him, her hands moving over him as well and down along his back, reminding him of those wicked nails she had and how she liked to use them. Damn it if that weren't some odd turn on in itself, and Kaler couldn't find the willpower to hold back any longer. One hand came down along Evan's side and under her thigh, pulling it up and helping to hook her leg around his hip. The teasing ceased, and an all out hot, steamy hook up commenced. Sex against the wall and on the sofa, her on the counter and then on the floor in the hall. All of it seemed seamless, no thought or real planning required as they moved from one part of the house to the next. Whatever this was, it seemed that they couldn't get enough of it or each other as they went time and time again, pushing each other over the edge and bring them back again. It was pure insanity, but in all the best of ways.

When Kaler had arrived at her house, she had known exactly what she had gotten herself into. The man before her enjoyed teasing her and making her work for anything and everything that she wanted. It had been like pulling teeth in order to get him to even come over to her home. A home that she had so openly shred with him two years ago, and that had ended up pretty much exactly where they were now. His work schedule had always kept her up, but Kaler was what she had always wanted. There was absolutely no point in her trying to fight the inevitable. Her heart always seemed to be wrapped up in the boy from her childhood; the boy that had captured her heart and made all of the bad things go away. She had known that whenever their baby was still in the picture that they were going to be together. Kaler had never once made the impression that he was going to leave her to raise their child on her own. So why Evan almost felt guilty for what she was doing was beyond her. Kaler was old enough to make his own decisions, and if they happened to be prompted along because of her well that was a risk she was willing to take.
Ever since she could remember, she had Kaler wrapped around her slender finger. He had always been there for her whenever shit hit the fan, and it often did. She was hardly an girl that did not get herself in trouble, but if she had him by her side then everything was going to be alright. That is why she did not care about anything right now as his fingers ran across her skin giving her chills and making her beg for him to stop teasing her. That was all she wanted; she wanted the boy with the blue eyes to stop tempting and taunting her. She was standing there against a wall with no clothes on, not that she had been wearing all that much to begin with. She knew the rules about this though, especially since this was going against Kaler’s nature. Evan had always known that Kaler was not the man to cheat on anyone. He had never once cheated on her; instead, he had broken her heart in order to try and save some sembalance of what they had shared. Above all she knew that he had loved her above anything and everyone else. She was the mother of his son, a son that would never enter the world, but a son none the less. He had been there for her through everything until she had lost the pieces of herself who made Evan, well Evan. She had lost the bubbly pieces and sunk into a black hole of despair. It was worse whenever Kaler had graduated and moved on with his life. But that was a whole other lifetime ago. The two of them were not the same people that they had been back then.
Back then she would have never dreamed of tempting the man that now stood with his hands grazing her pale skin, smiling against her. She knew that if this was to ever slip from her lips that it would be the end of her and anything she had dared to dream and keep ahold of. Kaler’s girlfriend would never know about their steamy hook-up, well personally Evan was hoping for multiple hook-ups. She hated the idea of him being in a relationship with a girl, but she was probably more towards his type for a female. She had known back then that she was not the usual for the boy. Her blonde hair was a perfect point to that, but still he managed to keep his fingers in it, not minding that it was a light color, or that she had the light eyes. But somehow she had always known that he loved her. Even to this day she knew that there would always be a part of Kaler that would love her, even if it would break her heart in the long run. Those residual feelings were going to be the death of the blonde girl who was currently wrapped up in her own sexual pleasure that she was having a hard time concentrating on anything else. All Evan had wanted was Kaler, and it was not going to change. She had hooked-up with him, and she knew that the pattern was going to continue. Until he was married to someone else, it was a Kaler and Evan thing. They were hard to fight, and the feelings were always going to be there.
There had always been one thing that she hated, and it was how much he always taunted her. Sure he gave her a proper work up to what was always just mind blowing sexual gratification, but she hated that teasing more than anything. The electrifying touch of his skin against hers is what always sent her over the edge. So when her pleading whisper fell on his ears she knew she was in for it. Her quiet moans filled the quiet air with ease as his lips pressed against hers to stifle the sound. Every time he worked her body over it felt like the first time that he had ever laid his hands on her. She was taken back to that very first night every time and how it had always been special between the two of them. She adored him more than words could ever express, so when his hands finally grabbed her thighs, she instantly wrapped them around him and away they went. It was a constant changing of local in the house, and quite frankly she enjoyed every minute of it. Somehow they were able to keep going and keep bringing each other back to each moment, and it might as well have been a marathon. By the end of it, Evan was fairly certain that they had hit every single room in the house, as they were curled up on her bed. How they ended upstairs without ever stopping was beyond her, but it had happened.
She lay there, nuzzled next to Kaler like she always was whenever they were together. It felt right and perfect in every sense of the word. Though he was dating someone, Evan knew that whatever it was between Kaler and Izzy was not a relationship. It was never going to last. Kaler had not had a serious relationship of any kind since herself, and she knew that. Her light eyes had managed to capture his icy blue ones, and she almost didn’t have words to say. Part of her wanted to see why he always managed to come back to her, but then there was the part of her that did not want to get hurt. She had a feeling it was better to play it close to the chest so he was not going to break her heart again, but it is Evan. She never knows what to say. She stared into his eyes for what seemed like forever before she spoke. When words finally formed, it was almost a whisper that was barely audible. “Alright, maybe that was more mind blowing than our baby making sex. Just maybe.....and aren’t you glad you came over, or do you still think I’m the devil?”
A soft smile played across her lips as she laid her head back down on his shoulder, and gently let her fingers wander across his chest.. [/blockquote] ___________________________

It was funny how easily he could do something that he was so against, and how good something so wrong could feel. This had been the last thing that Kaler had ever thought that he would be doing when he had found himself waking up earlier that day and setting about his normal routine. He had known that eventually he would get bored and need to find something to do to occupy his time, and sometimes that led him to the internet and the apparent dangers of instant messaging. However, most days he found himself either playing some kind of epic Wii game, out with one of his friends that was available doing whatever, or stowed away in his house lost in the pages of a good novel. Izzy was sometimes around to keep him entertained, but today Izzy had not been there and nothing else had seemed so appealing, so onto the world wide web he had went and this was the result of one seemingly harmless instant message conversation. Had someone suggested that this might happen to him, he might have thought that it were a possibility, but Kaler wouldn’t have thought that he would make it a reality. After all, he was being a good boy and doing right by Izzy. He didn’t want to be this kind of person, this guy that could throw something so good away just for the sake of one good fuck with an old flame. But now Kaler was certainly that person, because he and Evan were going at it like rabbits all over her damned house. She was all that filled his mind, everything that he thought that he wanted in that moment as they seemed to move in perfect rhythm with each other.
He thought that the only reason that they had been able to navigate her home so well and keep up at the pace that they had, was because he had once lived there. It kept from the awkwardness of finding rooms or tripping or stumbling, and it really was a great advantage to the both of them as Kaler maneuvered her, lifted her up and somehow managed to get up the stairs and find her bedroom where all of this would eventually come to an extremely pleasurable kind of end. Kaler felt pleasantly exhausted, passing out flat on his back in her comfy bed and having to take a few moments just to catch his breath and wrap his mind around what they had just managed to accomplish. That was, hands down, some of the better sex that Kaler had had in his lifetime, and there had been a lot of women that had been in Kaler’s life for that soul purpose. But, he really shouldn’t have been surprised; things had always been rather good in this department between Kaler and Evan. No strain of the mind was required to remember their first time together as they had snuck around and found a private place at that boarding school they had attended, finally going there after all that flirtation and the beginning of what had felt like a very promising relationship. Kaler had been surprised with Evan, but never disappointed. He had been introduced to those wicked fingernails, which had once again left their mark that very afternoon. It was just how things always were between them, and as he felt her snuggle in close, Kaler was able to let himself drift back and just feel them again and just for a moment it felt absolutely right.
However, reality quickly set in and his blue eyes were open, absently gazing up at the ceiling. Kaler let his arm wrap around Evan, taking a few moments before he glance down at her and her eyes caught his own. He could remember a time when looking into those eyes of her seemed like all he would ever need to remind him of who he was, and to show him what he needed. There was a part of him that wished things could be that simple again, and wanted her to be that person for him like she had been those long years ago. But, Kaler had already learned what happens when a person tries to trick their heart into loving and wanting someone else other than what it really wanted; it didn’t fucking work. This episode right here was the undeniable proof of that, and Kaler couldn’t expect to try and embark on anything like a relationship with Evan without expecting the same results. That would just be selfish, and rather foolish. Instead of letting those thoughts reel through his mind and cause more stress than necessary, Kaler cleared his mind and simply looked into those beautiful eyes of Evan’s, letting himself relax and feel just the ease and comfort of her company. He thought that he could almost see the thoughts running through her head, though, the wheels turning as she tried to find words. Kaler himself had no idea what to say, or if there was anything that he could say in that moment, but Evan did eventually find something.
A grin came to Kaler’s lips as she spoke. Maybe? Maybe that was more mind blowing than their baby making sex? If that wasn’t more mind blowing than any sex that they had managed to have in high school, then Kaler must have blacked out for that experience because he didn’t think there was anyway that he would be able to forget something more mind blowing than what they had just done. He kind of doubted that Evan really remembered on exactly which occasion that they had conceived their child, anyway, but it was fun to joke about, fun to try and revisit even though those memories came with a bittersweet taste. At her question, he shot her a playful look. “I’m glad I came over. Very glad.” His answer to that might vary a little after he left and saw Izzy again and the guilt started to sink in, but right now Kaler was extremely glad that he had said to hell with it all and indulged himself in this special treat of Evan. “But I still think you’re the devil. You learned from your teacher a little too well.” Kaler had never thought that Evan would tempt and taunt him the way that she had, but it hadn’t taken much for her to win this one. It was the same game that he played, though, manipulation and making someone think that your idea was actually theirs. He had gotten played at his own game, but the sex had been well worth it. “But you know, it was a wake up call. There I was, thinking that I could change when people really don’t change… Not by being in a relationship that really doesn’t even matter.” And not when it was someone else entirely that Kaler wanted so badly that it hurt.

Never had Evan dreamed that what had just happened would have. She had started out her day innocently enough, roaming around in her pajamas. It was a typical thing for her to wear Kaler’s old high school football shirt to bed, simply because it was about two sizes too big. For some reason or another today she had not deemed it necessary to wear anything besides the t-shirt, and it made everything even more interesting. She had been a busy girl for the past few weeks, doing one thing or the other but it never seemed to matter. She ended up bored out of her mind and found herself parousing the internet that fine afternoon. When she had seen one Kaler Scott online as well, it made for an interesting conversation. She had never meant to end up seducing the man with a girlfriend, but in the same token if it was some kind of romance that actually meant something to him then he would not have been there. He could have stayed home and done this that or the other thing, but instead he had driven to Evan’s home. She had wanted him, for one reason or the other; it had made it worth while though.
Evan still had major feelings for the boy, considering he was her first love and first for just about everything. He had taken her virginity those many years ago, and it had been a whirlwind of romance from the get go. It had started out as simple flirting her freshman year, but by sophomore year she had her head totally wrapped around the boy with the icy blue eyes. From the moment she had let him into her life, she knew that she would always love him. Something about him had captivated her, and now that she was twenty three years old she had no idea what made her heart linger with him. He managed to come around and still work his way into her heart every time he touched her. When his hands grazed her skin it was electric, and she was sent back to memories where things were easy. No one got hurt past what they could handle, and when hand holding was all that she wanted to do. Not that making love to Kaler had not filled her to a whole new level. As they proceeded into their little escapade, she could not help but notice how easy this was. Kaler maneuvered her petite body anywhere and everywhere that he wanted her. It was something she had expected, but it was a never nice touch to have her little frame constantly lifted into his arms. Even these many years later, it seemed like the safest place in little Evan’s world. Kaler and Evan were always going to be special and tonight had not failed her. She had known what to expect, but this was over the top.
She lay on her bed next to him, remeniscing of a time in her life when things were simple. Nothing was complicated because she had always been his, and he was hers. There was no cheating, lots of sneaking around, but that is what they got for falling in love at a boarding school. The two of them had always found a way to see each other and almost never get caught. They snuck around the campus, and she remembered everything about those years. It was a place she liked to stay lost in, but as she thought about what had just happened...well it put their baby making sex to shame. Evan loved teasing Kaler about it, because let’s face it. Not one of them could remember the exact moment that they had conceived their son, but the two of them in the sex department had never fizzled. Nine years down the line and the passion that the two shared still was there in full stride. Each one of them knew exactly what to do to the other, and it was never going to change. She knew that he had been introduced to her lovely little fingernails way back in the day, but that afternoon had been something all together mind blowing. Her fingers had left their mark, and hopefully Kaler’s girlfriend did not notice the fresh wounds on him. It was Evan’s little way of staying in his life, marks that he would never forget or get rid of.
They had been laying there in her bed forever, hoping to catch their breath before her eyes met his. Somehow he always knew what was going on with her, and she knew it was because of her eyes. Even when in doubt, he knew. Kaler had always been able to tell everything that was going on with the blonde just from one glance in her eyes and it had never changed or faltered. Even to this day he knew when something was bothering her, just by looking at her. In this instant, she was still too engrossed in the events that had just taken place as she stared at his blue eyes lackidazically. With every fiber of her being she wanted things to go back to how they had been in high school. before their baby had changed everything, and before they had ended things. Evan was still very much in love with the man who was currently wrapping his arm around her. She had always seen her life with him, and it was not going to change. She had been the girl to make him stand still or at least she had been at one point. Everything seemed so complicated now that they were out in the real world, but that was how it worked. She also knew how to press his buttons, and that was exactly what she had done whenever words finally slipped from her mouth.
She knew making him question about their absolute mind blowing sex marathon was something that would get the gears turning in his head. But that was the beauty of Evan; she knew that this was the best sex of her life. She liked to try and get him to revisit the memories that they shared and it was something that made her eyes sparkle with excitement, but his responses could not have been even more perfect in that particular moment. Of course she knew that he was glad he had come over, that had been obvious by how quickly he had stripped her out of his t-shirt. It also did not hurt that they had been going at it forever. She did however play the part of shocked very well as she lifted her head from his chest. “Well, if you weren’t such a damn good teacher I would not be this well practiced, now would I? And might I ask why you think I am the devil? Because I just don’t see it?”
she let a small smirk play across her lips as she locked her eyes with his. She listened as he spoke about the relationship that he was currently in, and it made her bite her lip slightly. It was a relationship that did not matter that much was true, but could people really not change? Evan had been that girl to always think that people could change. She had known Kaler when things were still innocent and pure, and here he was cheating on a girlfriend with her. That had to mean something right? She looked perplexed as he spoke, but soon words were pouring from her own lips again. “Well good afternoon Kaler Scott, this is your wake up call. Here I am. And people can change if they really want to. I mean look at you, hell look at me. If I didn’t change at least a little, I don’t think you would have ended up in my bed now would you? Besides Izzy just doesn’t have what we do.” she said with a playful wink. Evan still adored him, and hopefully one day soon he would really wake up and see that. Looking down into Evan’s bright eyes caused an annoying little voice to speak up in the back of Kaler Scott’s mind as he lay there with his ex, with his close friend that he had managed to keep after all these years and the woman that he had just cheated on his girlfriend with. That annoying little voice was the same one that was screaming at him for being such a horrible, horrible boyfriend and friend to Izzy, the one that was outraged at his total lack of self control and completely disgusted with him. This voice was also the one that told him that while Even had been the one to instigate this, the one that pursue it and had made it fucking impossible for Kaler not to come over it, Kaler should have told her no for more than just the obvious reason. It was known throughout the small town that Evan and Kaler had gone to the same boarding school for their high school education, and that that was how they had known each other. It was also known that she was the reason that Kaler had ended up living in their small, coastal town. It was his friendship with her that had brought him here in the first place, and it was that same friendship that had been able to endure so much in the time that they had known each other. That bond, that friendship that had been so carefully maintained throughout the years was rather important to Kaler; Evan was important to Kaler. He didn’t want to lose her, but at the same time he knew that they were in very different places, and that difference might have just qualified their afternoon as a mistake.
He could see the wheels turning, hear the underlying want and messages in some of the things that she said. Kaler was an observational creature, absorbing things like a sponge and able to pick up on the slightest things. And there were just times when they could be sitting there and talking that Evan would look at him, and Kaler would get the same sense that he was having right now as they lay there post-sex, his arm wrapping around her just because he had no idea how to not let this girl in and let her cuddle up against him when that was typically not something he did. He knew that she wanted more, knew that there were some old feelings there that despite the time that had passed and all the stupid ass things he had done would not be laid to rest yet. There were moments when Kaler experienced that for himself. He could be out with her around town, walking and laughing and catch himself thinking how easy it could be, and how easy it always was. But then, a strong shot of reality would hit him and he would be knocked out of that dream world that his mind had allowed him to wonder into for just a moment. Kaler was not the same guy that he had been in high school. He wasn’t the one that you were going to see stealing kisses with the blonde as they walked down a hall, and he didn’t particularly care for holding hands anymore. He couldn’t imagine mustering up that kind of effort that was bound to fail, probably at his own fault, and Kaler just knew that he wasn’t good for anyone like that anymore. He didn’t want those kind of things, or at least he hadn’t in a very long time. Now, when he was finally thinking about it again, he just seemed to prove over and over how much he didn’t deserve that kind of happiness. Evan would always be special, but she wasn’t going to have him that way again.
And now here he was, giving her these damned mixed signals and probably allowing her to think that there could be something here when there clearly couldn’t be. Kaler bit his lower lip, his mind in conflict about this for only just a moment before Evan started to reply to him. “Well, if you weren’t such a damn good teacher I would not be this well practiced, now would I?” He was always responsible for the ruination of all the good ones, wasn’t he? Kaler playfully glared at this comment, though, just because he knew that it was mostly true. For some reason, he was able to take a sweet girl like Evan and make her into this woman, who had been anything but sweet just a little while ago as they had been going at it all over the house. And why did he think she was the devil? He was amused with that and how she just didn’t seem to see it in herself to be a devil, because she had most certainly been one in this situation. “Because you lead me to temptation,” he replied, his smart ass ways shining through but it was also the truth. Kaler wasn’t much of a believer in the religion kind of thing, but he had studied religions in college and knew enough about most beliefs to know the story behind this idea of the devil and what kind of wicked things he supposedly did to the human race. Evan was Kaler’s devil in disguise, that little shoulder devil that had been whispering in his ear and caused him to tell the shoulder angel to fuck the hell off.
Then she was commenting on the latter half of his comments about how he hadn’t believed that people could change and his failing relationship with Izzy. He supposed that Evan had a point in saying that the two of them had changed. After all, he had once upon a time been a sweeter kind of guy by nature, a good boyfriend to her and a guy that wasn’t so afraid of feelings and opening himself up to others. And Evan didn’t used to be the kind of girl that would do things with this with a guy that had a girlfriend, but Kaler didn’t think these changes to be made by personal choice. He sighed, still looking down into those pretty eyes of hers. “Then maybe people can be good people and change for the worse, but I don’t know if there’s any coming back from that.” Meaning, he didn’t know if he could ever change and be that kind of good guy that he had once been again. All signs were pointing to no, that it wasn’t possible. He was far from the kind of guy that deserved anything like that. “Even if I wanted to come back from this, I don’t think I ever could.” Why would she ever want someone like him, anyway? Kaler quickly pushed her and those kind of thoughts away from his mind, knowing that it could lead to nothing good. Kaler forced a smile on his lips then, not wanting to go there with Evan just now. He knew that he could talk to her, about anything, but Vidette was off limits for him at the moment. “And on that note, I should probably be going. No one needs to figure out that I’m missing.” He started to sit himself up and pull away from Evan, knowing that his clothes were all out in the living room and that he would need to go and redress, and that was where the young man was headed.
